I'm gonna put this quite bluntly. I hate pussy, I think generally pussies are ugly sorry if that annoys anyone but it's just an opinion. I don't think mine is one of the less ugly ones so I wanted something that made me stand out a little more from the average and something that hopefully make it slightly more pretty. A piercing was my first idea to do this. I've also got a tattoo now and I'm planning more, but this piercing was the first thing I did.

But I couldn't decide which particular piercing to have, so I did some research and finally decided upon the vertical hood piercing because it looked kind pretty and it didn't look too painful.
After all it's just a piece of skin isn't it?
However, there was a catch! I was only 17! So I had to wait another 2 or 3 months until I was 18 to get it done. So...
The day before my 18th birthday I went, with my friend who begged me to let her come with me, down to the piercing and tattoo studio nearest to my college (and also the only one I trusted to stick sharp objects through my skin as I'd had my tongue pierced there earlier that year) and I asked them about the piercing and if it was ok to come by the next day: when I was 18 because by this time I was excited and desperate to get this piercing that I'd wanted for a long time.
So in my college lunch break I went straight down to the studio with my friend to get my piercing. There are two piercists there; Anna and Garth. They are both really friendly and really nice people.
Garth had pierced my tongue for me before but as he's a guy I thought I'd feel more comfortable with Anna so this time she did this particular piercing for me.
I had to wait with my friend for a while for them to set the room up and get everything ready, through the door I could see them setting up 'the chair' for me. This did not help my nerves! haha. I'm not usually one for enjoying pain or looking forward to it! and 'the chair' scares the crap out of me, it's like a torture chair or something and it's black and scarey and rather ugly. But a good piercing is more important than a scarey chair so I just ignored my nerves and carried on being excited.
When Anna invited me into the room and closed the door I think the first thing she said to me was 'right, there's no easy way of saying this... take your jeans off' which actually made me laugh. I got to leave my pants on for the time being, she asked me to sit on 'the chair' which was tipped back so I was lying down. Then she asked me to take my pants off so I did and she put a kind of paper sheet over the area to make me feel more comfortable which it did.
She explained to me what she was going to do and made me feel extremely comfortable, she spent some time numbing it with a swab or something and talked to me about something completely different... which helped a lot.
When it was time for the piercing she asked me to take deep breaths slowly in through the nose and out through the mouth. That scared me a little bit. Then she did it, and I have to say, it did hurt a little more than I expected it too but it wasn't at all an unbearable pain and it was very, very, very, quick and it didn't hurt afterwards at all. I was really worried before I got it done that I would have to waddle back to college like a penguin because of the pain but there was absolutely none at all. Not even when I walked or sat down. There was some slight discomfort when the numbness wore off but it wasn't much and not for very long after either.
It's not hard to look after at all I just needed to wash 2 or 3 times a day instead of once which was no trouble at all, and since it was my 18th birthday my I got EXTREMELY drunk the next night and I did knock it once, but even that wasn't that bad. The only thing I found awkward was wiping which was fine as long as I was careful with what I was doing.
I haven't decided whether it makes sex better yet because sex is pretty much awesome anyway. But it's very good with a vibrator! haha. I've noticed that it makes my vibrator VERY loud though because it vibrates on the metal as well so if your thinking of getting this piercing careful what you do if you've got other people living in your house!
