First a little background info about myself. I'm currently 21 and have been into body modification since I was about 15. I've had quite a few piercings over the years which include both eyebrows, labret, septum, tongue, nipples, madonna, nostril, bridge and various lip piercings. So after having gone through having most of my face pierced, naturally I wanted to go a step further thus my ache for the clitoral hood piercing.

So after years of contemplation and waiting to be of legal age I decided to book an appointment. I called Metamorphosis and talked to the body piercer there named Chris, female by the way. She seemed really nice and was able to tell me a lot of information such as the step by step procedure, healing time, jewelery etc. So I booked the appointment for the next week and anxiously waited while looking up as much information as I could just to ease myself.
I was so excited and couldn't wait. Usually when I went in to get a piercing my mother would always be there to hold my hand since I started getting piercings at the age of 15 but this time was a little different. she felt kind of awkward when I told her about my nipple piercings. She didn't disapprove but I guess it was a bit much for her. So keeping her in the dark about this piercing seemed like a good idea. So I asked my friend if she would also take a day off work to go with me for support and being the great friend that she is she agreed. So after taking a day off work and heading into the city with a friend I finally arrived at Metamorphosis. Extremely nervous by this time. But I was glad that Chris took the time out to make me feel at ease and booked the whole hour for me. But while I was trying to relax she helped me pick out some jewelery which was a standard 14 gauge curved barbell for my vertical clitoral hood piercing.
Then after a few minutes when I was thoroughly relaxed she asked me to remove my pants and lay back on the table. Once again I was quite nervous so I was really happy she was being so patient with me. So then she started to clean the area with what I believe was iodine. By the way the studio itself was extremely sanitary and very comfortable. She then marked the placement and handed me a mirror to see if it was fine with me, which it was. She then tried using a receiving tube instead of clamps but then she started having trouble with the tube because my hood was apparently too shallow and wasn't able to stretch outward enough. So she had to call in another body piercer for assistance. so while the other body piercer held out my clit hood, Chris was getting ready to pierce. When Chris finally pierced me it wasn't what I expected at all. I expected a lot of pain but it was exactly the opposite. All I felt was a little poke. On a scale of 1 to 10 the pain was probably a 4 at most. It hurt more to get the side of my nose pierced. Only thing that kind of hurt was when she had to put in the barbell. Afterwards she told me that the area has a lot of sensory receptors but not a whole lot of pain receptors which is why it didn't hurt so bad. Which kind of makes some sense. But other then that a lot of energy was wasted on being nervous for nothing. So once she got the barbell on tight and cleaned up again she started telling me about aftercare. She told me to use basic soap and water and to not clean the area too too much since that part of the body is pretty much self cleaning. But she said that sea salt soaks would help once in awhile. No sex during the healing process for about a month just to be safe.
So few days later, was still a tiny bit sore but the pain was barely noticeable. It took about 3 weeks for it to fully heal and not be sore at all. I absolutely fell in love with it and haven't regretted getting it done at all. If anybody is thinking of getting a clit hood piercing I highly recommend it. It was one of the most greatest intimate body piercing experiences I have ever had. If you are in the Manitoba area I highly recommend going to Metamorphosis. The staff there is amazing and great at what they do.
