Okay, so, the experience of getting my vertical clitoral hood pierced (VCH)...I had been wanting to do this for some time, despite only being 18. But, obviously, this wasn't something my mom or dad would take me to get done...or even something I would feel comfortable with them knowing. My parents are quite conservative when it comes to piercings and whatnot...(I went through a phase previously, which had turned them off...and they were happy that I had seemingly gotten over it) So I felt this was the perfect deal...it could be easily concealed to them (clearly) and from what some friends had told me, it was highly recommended/pleasing. but I wasn't sure I could go through with the pain of it, the awkward atmosphere of someone actually doing it, and then the aftermath of it...would it make me feel kind of dirty? Well...

After two times or so of going to the place and looking at the little model and the barbells, I had finally worked up the nerve to do it and had 90 dollars at my disposal...So my friends and I got together and went to the shop. One of my friends got a tattoo and I was stalling, due to my immense fear that it would hurt so badly. (plus, the embarassment of someone I don't know well seeing me nearly naked)...So, I kind of stood around and let it sink it more...(I would recommend just going in and doing the damn thing-it's not that big a deal to build it up so much) Anyway, I ended up paying then...which meant i was in for the ride--no going back.

(I had previously done some research) but when I actually looked at the model vagina and saw where, specifically, you could get pierced...I, for a moment, changed my mind about getting it vertically to horizontally...simply because the horizontal seemed to be more visually stimulating & look better. But I ended up sticking with my original decision.

As soon emily got finished with her tattoo, we went into a little room and my friends held my hands... (what? i didn't know what to expect)...the piercer made sure i was "genetically equipped" for the piercing, if you will. He put his gloves on and got the needles out and this is when I grew quite frightful of it all. Anyway, I flipped out and told him to tell me EXACTLY what he was doing when he was doing it. he told me not to worry until he put the black gloves on...which after a few panic-stricken moment laying there on the table--I saw him do. He said "okay" and then he casually told me to take a deep breath...I kind of jumped...and, honestly, that was all that I remember...the pain was truly minimal...it was more startling than anything else...maybe slightly awkward (I had three of my friends with me.) It wasn't NEARLY what I was expecting...nor was the situation as uncomfortable...This is what they do for a living, they're not taking time to judge your body or anything else. It healed rather quickly. I was actually good about washing it many times daily. You'll have your typical grossness of any piercing. It was quite stiff for a while and it almost bothered me during this time...but within a month or so, it was fine and functioning VERY properly ;-) I, like my friends to me, would highly recommend this if you're considering it! seriously!

About the ring- and I have yet to change the purple barbell ( I do not remember what gauge it was or anything...sixteen or fourteen, not sure) That was put in there when I got it pierced, but I have heard that experimenting with the the different sizes/textures? was a real joy. I'll have to get on that, I guess...

Oh and if you have piercing already and you're curious as to what the level of pain is similar to...I had previously had my nose pierced (twice), my navel, & my cartlige of my ear...I would say this pain was less than the pain of getting any of the other piercings done...honestly! I know that is hard to believe because it seems like it would be such an incredibly sensitive area, but it is truly not bad! also, I would SERIOUSLY spend the extra money (mine was a few dollars short of $90) on getting someone who knows what they're doing to perform it. Maybe you've done one yourself...or have gotten a twenty five dollar piercing before. This is definitely not a piercing you can afford to have cheaply done! Think about it. It could serve no purpose if not placed in the right spot. Also, you could possibly lose sensation there altogether. Plus, even at $90, it's a bargain--trust me! :) You won't regret getting it done.
