I currently have nine piercings. I have two in each earlobe my eyebrow, center tongue, labret, nostril, and septum. After nine piercings, many people ask me, "Aren't you out of places to pierce? When weill you get tired of them?" The answers, of course, are no, I'm not out of places to pierce and no, I'll never get sick of them.

I have been 18 for three months now, and figured that I hadn't done anything "extreme" enough to commemorate being 18. Plus, I was itching for a new piercing after how well the healing has been for my septum so far. My friend came over one night and we were talking about the one place we would want to get pierced, no matter what anyone said about it. She said that she wanted her nipples pierced and gauged to an 8g. I said, "I wanna get a clit hood piercing." She gasped and cringed in pain at the thought of a needle going that close to the most sensitive part of a girl's anatomy.
The next day after school, on a whim, I decided to stop into Avant Garde and find out if I was better suited for a horizontal or a vertical. I then had my short consultation with the piercer. He politely asked me to drop my pants and I laid down spread-eagle on the table with two guys peering at me. After about two minutes of intent thought, the piercer said that I could go for either one because of the way I was "put together" down there. So I made my appointment for the next day at 3:15 p.m. and left happily.
The next day at school, I didn't talk to anyone about my new adornment that I would be getting that day. I didn't feel like anyone but me needed to know. In actuality, I was so ecstatic that I ended up telling three or four very close and trusted friends about my decision, and they all supported me in it. I went through the
day being a little bit nervous about the piercing, and when the end bell rang at 2:52 p.m. I practically ran out of the building to my car.
On the way to the shop, I put on some Motley Crue and let the screaming vocals and crashing drums carry away any little fears I had about the piercing. Once I got there, I told the cashier what I wanted, presented my ID, and they photocopied my ID in the back room. Then the cashier returned, I paid him, and noticed that there were five people ahead of me! It was going to be quite a wait, so I ran next door to George Webbs and had a cheeseburger and a soda to get some food in my stomach before the piercing. Then I went to the bathroom in George Webbs and washed my "area" very scrupulously, just to make sure that I wouldn't embarrass myself when getting pierced. After that, I went back next door.
One person was left before me, so I just sat down on the couch and waited. And waited. And waited some more. After about ten minutes, the piercer called me back and said, "Let's get this show on the road!" I laughed a little, but inside I was getting pretty nervous. I took off my pants and underwear and hung them on a hook on the wall. Then I laid down spread-eagle on the table with my feet in the stirrups and was silent.
The piercer then took a toothpick dipped in ink and gently marked the entry and exit holes of my vertical clitoral hood piercing. He then got out his supplies and unwrapped them all in front of me so I knew they were sterile. Then he changed his gloves to a new pair, and he put the receiving tube in place. It was cold and a little uncomfortable, but nothing that any woman can't handle. Then I saw him approach with the needle. He told me to breathe in, then exhale, then breathe in, then exhale again. He told me to breathe in a third time, and on my third exhale he pushed the needle through the hood and out the other side into the receiving tube. I didn't even realize that he had already pierced it until I saw him screwing the ball onto my jewelry. I didn't feel a thing!
I put a little bit of tissue in my underwear in case of bleeding, put on my pants and shoes, and then grabbed the aftercare sheet and went on my way. For cleaning, I just get rid of crusties with a q-tip and hot water, then wash the area with Dial soap twice a day. Also, I do sea salt soaks with sea salt solution and a cotton ball. The first day, it stung a little when I first cleaned it, but it was fine after that. And for a few days there was a little bit of blood in the crusties, but that's nothing major.
I have had this piercing for a week now and I already love it so much! Not only does it have a visually pleasing look, it has erotic potential! However, don't play with it when it's not healed! No, it doesn't turn me on just to walk around, but I can definitely feel heightened sensation when I'm cleaning the area or doing a soak on the area.
Basically, don't be scared to get this piercing. It seems extreme, but it's really not that horrible. If you are considering getting a vertical clitoral hood piercing, I would tell you to go for it because there is nothing to be afraid of, it doesn't hurt, and the aftercare is easy. Have fun and merry piercings!
