Hi! I felt the need to write this review to help others in their decision about whether to get a VCH. I am currently a senior at BGSU studying Molecular biology/pre-med; therefore, it is in my nature to want to research everything. However, when I was reading about personal experiences with women and their VCH's, I realized that there were not many experience critiques written that outlined the long-term effects of the piercing. I really wanted to know if the piercings are generally successful in terms of not rejecting and making sure they seemed safe long term. Most critiques detailed the 3 "P's" (Procedure, Piercer, Pain), but I was most interested in how the piercing took after say 3 months or a year and how it affected the piercee's (and her partner's) sex lives after healing.

So, to go through the norms, I was pierced at adornment deluxe by Rich Hartwick. The most important thing to me about the piercing was to make sure I got it done by the most experienced, professional piercer I could find. Rich was just that and then some. He was overly cautious, courteous, cleanly, and professional. He changed gloves a dozen times and measured and calibrated and checked piercing location about as many times. My slightly over-protective boyfriend was present during the entire procedure even he was overly impressed at the level of professionalism at the studio. I really would recommend this studio to anyone, even if it involves driving long distances. I drove over 2 hours to be pierced by Rich and I am confident he was the reason my piercing experience was generally awesome. I almost forgot the last "P"... if someone tells you getting her VCH done was painless then she is lying. It does hurt; it was probably the most intense pain I've ever felt before (no, I've never been through childbirth), but it is such a quick piercing that it is over before you have time to say "ouch." Pain should not be a deterrent in your decision to get a VCH. Also, if you are squeamish, this is a good piercing. Mine did not bleed at all. Right after it was pierced, Rich handed me a mirror and it looked like it had been in there for months. No bleeding, minimal swelling and tenderness. The worst part about the entire experience was laying in a doctor's chair naked from the waist down with my legs spread as far apart as I could get them while a 50 million watt light bulb illuminated my genitals for all the world to see. Yes, that was so lovely. I swear, the light was so bright that it got kind of hot!

This may sound hard to believe, but my piercing was pretty much healed in 2 days. I really couldn't stand it any longer and was just "testing the waters" when I realized that I could do relatively anything to the piercing without experiencing any pain. Actually, it felt amazing and I started ticking off the days on the calendar until my boyfriend and I could take a test drive. About 3 weeks after being pierced neither of us could stand it anymore and we now are both in love with my VCH. Although I got my piercing done for aesthetic reasons (vaginas are scary looking!), I really couldn't be happier with how it enhances sex. It just really intensifies everything for both of us. Oh and it might be the cutest thing ever to look down and see two cute sparkly balls. If you are curious, my aftercare regimen included Satin washes in the shower twice a day and sea salt soaks once a day. If you're sitting there thinking "how the hell could she soak that in sea salt?" I'll give you a tip. Shot glasses have dual purposes sometimes!

It has been about 4 months now and I still couldn't be happier with the piercing. I absolutely love how it looks and I am very happy to show it off. I was pierced with a 14 gauge needle and my initial jewelry was a 14 ga curved internally threaded barbell. I opted for an upper green and a lower yellow sparkly titanium balls. As a side note, I definitely would recommend internally threaded jewelry for the VCH. It is a hard piercing to grip and change the balls or barbell by yourself, so being internally threaded makes it much easier because you are not working with a tiny slippery ball trying to find the hole in it. The jewelry is pricier, but it is worth it. In the future I am thinking about getting a larger bead for the bottom; as the piercing has healed and settled the bottom bead has receded internally a little bit and is no longer very visible. Additionally, I think it will feel very different with different balls or barbells as changing either changes the way the ball rests inside your body and what it puts pressure on.

In closing, very awesome piercing, amazing piercer and studio, and remember the shot glass!
