My very first piercing experience isn't such a vivid memory for me because my lobes were pierced when I was still in diapers. I'd wanted another piercing for years, since my mid-teens. I had no idea exactly what I wanted so I decided to do some intense research and stumbled upon BME. I'm so happy I did because I was able to make an educated decision on what was best for ME.
At A Glance Author Niki Contact Niki@bme.anon When Six months ago Artist Rhonda Studio Lasting Impressions Tattoo Studio Location Ames, IA I hadn't realized that there were so many places people were willing to put a needle through but I braved it and continue researching. I hesitated at first before viewing the genital piercing section. It surprised me when I had an instant love for hood piercing. If you asked my friends they'd tell you that that would be the last place I'd pierce. I'm no prude or wuss but I just couldn't imagine doing it but I just couldn't stop thinking about how amazing the experience would be.
After thinking about the pros and cons, I decided to get my hood pierced and as soon as I moved to Iowa to go to school, my first mission was to find a reputable studio that I felt comfortable with. The big day was in Jan. 2005, I remember not sleeping well the night before, I was so excited. My friends didn't believe that I was going to go through with it which kinda made me want to do it more but the experience was 99% for me.
When I got to Lasting Impressions, I felt really comfortable like there was were I was supposed to get pierced, like fate. Anyway, I started talking to the owner and was relieved when the studio's piercer was female. I mean not that I wouldn't have done it if it was a guy but I felt even more at ease with Rhonda. I paid up, it was a little over $50 because I was getting my ear cartilage pierces too, and then headed to the back room.
This is the exact moment when excitement turned to sheer fear. After she pierced my ear, she began to explain to me what she was going to do with my hood piercing just like she did with my ear. I honestly don't think I heard everything she said because I was trying to calm down enough to concentrate. She asked me to pull one leg out of my pants and get on the chair which was covered in that paper you see when you visit your doctor.
While I tried to get comfortable, she opened another fresh needle to use on me. That is extremely important that your piercer uses fresh needles everytime and not just one needle for all your 2000 parts and especially not the needle they used on the person who just left the studio! She was so understanding and gentle with me explaining everything thing she did and why she did it and triple checking that placement and everything was perfect.
I giggled when she did a deep sea dive from sitting at my shoulders to between my thighs. I've always been a clean shaven girl but I really don't think it's a requirement. Anyway, she made sure that I wanted it vertically done and being a free-hand piercer, she didn't need clamps. She pulled at my genitals a bit so that she could pierce my hood. I figured Ok, if you just chill you won't feel anything...right. The second the needle touched my hood I almost jumped out of the seat and hung from the ceiling with my nails like those cartoon cats when they get scared. It felt exactly like...well, a needle piercing a very sensitive area.
I felt like such a dork freaking out but again Rhonda was understanding and told me it was okay and that I was doing a good job so far. She told me the exact moment she was trying again and I just kept telling myself to sit still over and over. The needle went through and it was so intense for like 3 seconds and then amazingly, it sorta felt good. After the needle went through the ring, a regular beaded ring, was next and that didn't hurt as much as the needle but the pressure was enough to make me squirm a bit.
After it was done, I was grinning like the Grinch. I was so proud of myself and so happy. I practically catwalked in front of the mirror and she probably thought i was crazy but I was so in love with it. I thanked her like 10 times and she told me I did a good job. She explained the aftercare and the no bodily fluids on it for a month and it was all good from there. I pulled my jeans up and walked out of the studio with my head held high well until my panties rubbed against my new piercing and my legs almost buckled under the new sensation. I thought "I could really get used to this" *evil grin*.
After babying it for like 4 weeks, the excitement still felt like I had just gotten it the day before. It healed beautifully with no problems and let's just say it definately rubs me the right way.:) I definately recommend getting it to any woman who's considering it. Make sure that you're comfortable with the piercer and that they know what they're doing, since that's not really somewhere you want someone messing up on. It's been 6 months since I got my hood vertically piercing and I'm still in love with it till this day. I can see us having a beautiful relationship for years to come. :)
