A little background..

5 years ago i got my navel pierced.

After cruising BME for the last 9 months or so I finally got the two 14g horizontal nipples I had been lusting after.

I thought that was the end of my piercing days.

I had no idea about the details of genital piercing at all until I found BME in an effort to research nipple piercings. I didn't have any feelings towards them at all really - i was neutral. It wasn't until I started looking into which piercing I would get, you know, if say, HYPOTHETICALLY, i were to get one. Which I wasn't.

Several image and experience updates later I decided that the VCH was the one for me. If i ever decided that I wanted a genital piercing at all.

Two weeks after my nipple piercings I duly went for my checkup - to which the woman (not the woman who pierced me) said I had done well to heal them so well, and that if I could handle that piercing, I could handle almost any other.

Fast forward two more weeks and I'm in the four roses studio yet again, this time in the stirrups (sorry - a little graphic, but it's the way it was) getting emla cream put on. I was sent off for an hour (in which my friend - who I had coaxed into getting hers done - and I went out for dinner), to let the cream absorb. I know it's a bit wussy to bother with the cream, but honestly - if you have the option i'd say go for it.

The piercing itself was possibly the biggest non-event I've experienced to date. I was marked, the receiving tube went in (couldn't feel it at all) everything was lined up, I was told "one breath in", then it was pierced. There was no sharp pain. None. All I felt was a minor pressure - which I honestly can't even call uncomfortable. It was nothing at all. The jewellery going in was a bit of a sting, but again, nothing remotely like pain. It bled a little at the time, and for a few hours afterward. I haven't had any today.

I don't actually know what the jewellery is - I know it's a CBR with a diamante jewel...by looking at it I think it's 16g...i'll stretch it up I think to 14 or 12. I think I will probably try a barbell as well. I find the CBRs a hassle to change, and I quite like the look of the barbells - though my piercer said they rings are "better" for stimulation....decisions!!

I suspect my aftercare will be similar to what I did for my nipples. I use an antibacterial soap wash in the morning everyday, and salt water soaks every other day or so. The wash this morning (first time) proved a little cumbersome. I found lathering up the soap in my hands (having washed my hands first) and letting it run with the shower over the piercing to be effective. Doing that for a few minutes with the warm water removes any crust without me having to do anything, which I think is important in keeping bugs out. Hopefully my healing will be as simple as my nipples, and it will be healed in a few weeks.

I'm completely unaware of my piercing. I don't plan on becoming aware of it (intentionally) until after the healing process. I'm a bit of a fanatic about leaving piercings alone until they've healed properly - but it works. I ride a push bike a lot so I'm concerned/interested to see how that goes. I don't plan on riding for a few weeks until it's all healed. Hopefully it won't be too much - that is one thing I haven't been able to find much information on on BME so I will let all of you prospective-VCH-owner-bike-riders know how it goes!

I can't begin to describe how this piercing makes me feel. My nipple piercings began the true journey of self adornment and image acceptance, but my VCH has cemented it for me. I'm more happy with my body than I have ever been. It's completely bizarre that something as simple as a ring can have such a profound effect on the way you see yourself. I think it is the empowerment that piercing allows you - I feel inspired to perfect things. I have a list of other "modifications" that I want to achieve over the next few months.
