I live in Quebec. The drinking, smoking and voting age is 18. And though one doesn't have to be 18 to do those things, it's still nice knowing you're legal. Especially if you're a tiny, young looking girl, like myself. I had decided that I wanted to celebrate my legal, emotional and sexual emancipation with some sort of gift to myself; something symbolic, yet memorable. I'm not really one for material things like cars or jewelry, and I don't have much money. What I really wanted for my 18th birthday was a really good orgasm. Is that too much for a girl to ask?! Now, you can't really just go out and buy one of those. I mean, you CAN, but it's frowned upon in Western society. Plus you could end up with some nasty repercussions that I didn't really need. I wanted more than just any old orgasm, I wanted to be able to do it myself, anytime, any place.

I had always been very curious about genital piercings, and had thought about getting one for a good six months. I had saved up enough money from my crappy part time job to foot the hundred dollar bill, and went to Adrenaline to make the appointment with my best friend. It's the closest English piercing studio near our school. It's also cheaper than the reputable Black Sun (for a reason!).My best friend and I had been using Adrenaline for our previous piercings. She had pierced her tongue and cheek there, and I got my eyebrow done there. We were very satisfied with the results at that time. Looking back, I'm not sure if Adrenaline was really the studio for me. I wanted to do get my piercing done on the day of my birth, since I thought you had to be eighteen to do it. Turns out I was wrong, the age of piercing consent in sixteen in Quebec, go figure. When I went to go make my appointment with the only female piercer I know in Montreal, Jen, she told me she only had time to do it that Tuesday(as in three days from then). I took the appointment, even though it was much earlier than I had anticipated.
I showed up on the Tuesday, nervous as hell. I remember I was wearing this ugly yellow kilt. Who wears yellow kilts?! Well obviously me. Whatever, I was seventeen, it was a phase. I've now since thrown it out. Anyways, I entered Adrenaline, paced around until someone noticed me. I told them I was here for my appointment, which I seem to remember whispering, incase ANYONE I knew mysteriously showed up and heard me. I'm a little nuts. I chose my jewelry, some fourteen gage silver CBR (captive ball ring), and Jen closed the blinds inside the piercing booth. I had already decided that I was going for a horizontal hood piercing. It looked prettier and seemed more effective for me. It was then I started to get nervous. Jen calmed me down, and explained what was going to happen. She was going to put the needle through my clitoral hood, and the insert the jewelry I had chosen inside. She told me I could scream as much as I wanted; I could squeeze my friend's hand, but "DO NOT KICK ME IN THE HEAD". Before I pierced my hood, I had my eyebrow and I think something else pierced. Usually, the clamps hurt more than the actual piercing, so that's what I expected. I could feel that she clamped me so I figured the worse was over. Shucks was I wrong. Not kicking Jen in the head seemed simple enough, but alas, my nervous knees gave in and boom went Jen. I remember the blood all over my yellow kilt. It was awful. I knew it wasn't Jen's fault, but I was just so shaken up. I had kicked her in the head while she was putting the needle through, and I ended up getting pierced twice. Jen, once again, calmed me down, and cleaned up the blood. She told me not to touch it until it was healed, which she said generally took a week or two. She said no sex for three to four weeks, which wasn't a problem since I was VERY single. I was given a little baggie with iodine, sea salts and instructions on how to clean my piercing. I never used any of t he products, and didn't get any infections. But that's just me. I ne ver clean my piercings. I was glad I brought a pad like Jen said, 'cause I bled for the rest of that day. Sitting and walking was a little uncomfortable, but I managed to go to s show that night without much discomfort.
