I used to work in a store where facial piercings were not allowed, but I wanted so badly to be pierced. I went online and did a little research. I considered several piercings that could not be seen at work. But, I kept coming back to genital piercings because they seemed interesting. At first, the idea of a genital piercing was very shocking and off the wall, but as I read about it the idea grew on me.
At A Glance Author pierced. Contact pierced.@bme.anon When A year ago Artist Burt Studio 3rd Dimension Tattoo & Body Piercing Location 226 W. Wisconsin Ave. Appleton, WI 54911 I asked several of my pierced friends who they went to, many of them specified that their piercer was a fellow named Burt at 3rd Dimension. I was very nervous about a dude that I was not acquainted with seeing my crotch. However, when I called to make the appointment he was very understanding of my nerves and courteous to me. He said that he had seen quite a few crotches in his line of work, and that I should not worry about it.
To prepare for the actual piercing I trimmed the entire genital area down to ¼ of an inch. The area directly surrounding my hood was much shorter. When I got to 3rd Dimension I was quite nervous. I sat back in a chair that was much like a chair that dentists use. I had to put my feet in gynecologist style stirrups. He swabbed the area , and made a mark with some ink. After that he asked me if that spot was going to work out for me. I said yes. I was always under the impression that piercing needles were four or five inches long, and pretty wicked looking. The needle was a 14 gauge needle, and it was only about two inches long.
When he first pierced the top layer of skin it was instantly extremely painful, but, after only a split second of that, I felt my face flush. All of the sudden I felt very, very warm and kind of messed up. It felt like I was on drugs, some weird type of pierced high. When I looked down he was just placing the captive bead inside the ring. I didn't expect that type of hot rush from something I thought would be excruciatingly painful. It felt like the room was spinning.
When I left, Burt gave me a sheet of paper with all kinds of aftercare tips. He told me some various things about the healing process. My hood would be a fast healer because the area gets a good amount of blood flow. Also, when I left I got a little punch card that said "I'm a Repeat Offender At 3rd Dimension Tattoo & Body Piercing". So After I get five piercings I get a deal on the next one or a deal on some new jewelry. I was not very familiar with piercing parlor etiquette at that point in my life, so I tipped him five dollars. I figured, that's what I would tip my hair stylist, that is what I will tip my piercer.
The total healing time was one week. I noticed that when I walked up a flight of stairs there was some pain. There was a lot more pain when the seam of jeans touched the ring. In the morning, and before bed I used liquid dial soap and water to clean it. I rinsed with water, and then I used saline contact solution to make sure all the soap residue was gone.
I would recommend this piercing to anyone considering it. The pain of the actual piercing is very short lived, and it gives you a crazy rush. The healing time is short, and only painful if something brushes the ring. I heard a rumor that you lose feeling in your clitoris if jewelry comes in contact with it all the time. This is not true. It's been more than a year and my clitoris is still just as fun as a roller coaster. I think that naughty activities are more fun now that I'm pierced. It's an instant turn on when someone touches the ring just right. Recently I purchased a glow in the dark bead to replace the shiny black/silver one. That should look pretty cool in the dark. I have noticed that some guys get a little intimidated by the piercing. They warm up to it as soon as they realize how fun it is for me.
When I travel in planes or go to airports I always wear jeans now. I wouldn't want to be wearing a pair of joggers and have the metal detector wand beep at me. By wearing jeans the airport security officials just assume that my zipper is the only metal near my waist. I have never set off a metal detector, but in airports I just like to play it safe, just in case.
