At A Glance Author GreyCat Contact GreyCat@bme.anon When Six months ago Artist Mike or Matt... i cant remember which name Studio Full Color Coverage Location annapolis, maryland about 8 months ago, I had on my record a navel ring, 7 ear piercings, 4 nipple piercings (each nip had a horizontal hoop and a vertical barbell), my septum, and my tongue, plus a tattoo. I always think long and hard about whatever piercing I'm currently considering... I make sure its something I like and want. However the actual time i decide to get pierced is always spontaneous, for example, after thinking for several months about getting a tongue piercing, I decided to do it... but I waited another month until one day I drove by the piercing shop and thought " hmm... I think I'll go get pierced now." I chickened out of getting my nipples pierced once because I didnt go with my impulse; I waited a day and by that time I was too nervous. once I eventually did go back and get pierced, I kicked myself for not doing it sooner! Ever since then I've gone with my gut. My instincts seem to know when its the right time to get pierced.
Anyway, this time was no different. I had been considering getting a hood piercing for a while. I figured it would hurt, but then again after having my septum done, I knew I could handle anything. So I drove by Full Color Coverage one afternoon and thought "what the hell, why not stop in and get some new genital jewelry!" Usually I have a tendancy to take friends along for moral support when I get pierced, but I wasnt going to subject my girl friends to having to look at my vagina (let alone watching a needle go through part of it), nor was I comfortable taking any of my guy friends along for this little adventure. I wanted my boyfriend to be there, but he was at work, and though I could have waited for him to get off work, the shop would be closed by then. I knew if I waited until the next day to get pierced, I might not have the guts to go back in. so into the piercing shop I went, excited and nervous as all hell.
Full Color Coverage is an excellent place to get pierced, by the way. Extremely clean and everyone who works there is very professional. I felt like i was in a doctors office... especially when I had to get half-naked and sit on a medical table with my feet up in stirrups! The piercer, I cant remember if his name was Mike or Matt, gave me a stuffed animal to hold for comfort. He showed me the captive bead ring he was going to use. He explained the procedure, cleaned the jewelry and around my *area*, and poked around my clit with a q-tip to determine what spots were more sensitive. This had to do with the placement of the jewelry. So we picked a spot, and he marked it, and then gently put the clamp on. And then i waited for what i thought was going to be some awful pain.
(Now dont get me wrong... pain is part of the whole body piercing experience, and the experience of getting pierced just wouldn't be the same without it. It is the pain accompanied by that rush of adrenaline and endorphins thats just a great kick in the ass and a great high. I think that most people who get pierced would agree with me. Hence the reason piercing is truely so addictive... it feels good!! But back to my story... )
Piercer Guy instructed me to take a deep breath... I breathed out and the needle slid in. Much to my surprise, it was just a quick pinch... and then the needle was out... and that is the first last and only time my hood piercing has ever hurt. It was absolutely THE LEAST painful piercing i have ever had. And now its probably my favorite piece of jewelry, it looks cute as hell and its functional too! I masturbated for the first time about a week after getting pierced, which left it a little bit sore. But I waited over a month before having any sex. The sensitivity increse is noticable, though not dramatic. The bead is a nice little added stimulation during manual sex, and oral as well. All in all it was what I had been told to expect, although to be honest I had hoped for a really dramatic difference. I'd heard stories about girls with hood piercings who could orgasm from just walking around! This was something that, as unreallistic as it sounded, did appeal to me, as achiev ing orgasm is next to impossible for me. My hood ring unfortunately did not turn out to be a "magic button," but its a slight improvement in sensitivity, and my boyfriend loved it, and its damn cute. :) All in all i am very happy with my hood ring.
My hood was pierced horizontally because in my opinion it looked better than the verticals. Unfortunately a few weeks after I got pierced, I found out that verts tended to increase sexual sensitivity a lot more than horizontals. Had I known that I probably would have gone for a vert. Hmm... future piercing in the works... ?
