Well, I said I would tell you all about my hood piercing so here I am to tell the tale. It started when I saw the hood piercing pics on BME. I really liked the looks of the horizontal hood rings and after 3 months of contemplation, research,(which included reading every hood piercing experience on this site), and multiple conversations with every piercing shop in town I decided to go for it.

Fortunatly there was no one else there at the moment so I announced with conviction to the girl behind the counter, "I would like to have my hood pierced". My original idea was a vertical and a horizontal (which I still want) but I was told that I should probably not get them both at the same time because they would put pressure on each other while healing and I could possibly end up either with a big hole through my hood or worse yet I could lose both piercings. So, I opted to go with a horizontal hood for starters. I figured that would be best since I wanted the horizontal the most and in case I found the pain too much to bear a second time I would at least have that. Although, I was not anticipating anything too bad, thanks to all the of the great experiences I read here, and the fact that none of my other piercings(cartalidge, both nipples and tongue) were that bad.
So, I picked out a 10 gauge cbr, paid my money and waited the few minutes it took for the piercer to set up. I was nervous at this point but, I always am before any piercing.
When I got into the room the piercer ,I think his name was Doug, but I am not sure, discussed placement and my plans for a double hood
in the future. I must say that the most uncomfortable part was getting undressed in front of a total stranger. I just kept telling myself that he's probably seen a hundred pussies by now. I removed my shorts and climbed up on the table, placed my feet in the stirrups and started mentally preparing myself.
First I was marked with a toothpick dipped in some kind of purple ink or dye, then I checked the placement and it looked good to me. He told me beforehand that most people find it more of a shocking experience than a painful one. I got a little squeamish for minute, I saw him lean in and I called out "What are you gonna do?" to which he replied "Stick a needle in you", okay let's try again. I giggled and got ready for another try but, this time when I saw him coming toward me with that needle I found myself scooting back away from him, I did not do it consciously it just sort of happened, okay one more try. Finally, I let go and let him do what had to be done.
The piercing was not painful it really was more of a shock than anything else. I mean it hurt of course, I was after all being stuck with a needle, but I've experienced more pain getting my finger pricked at the doctors office. The prick of the needle only lasted a nanosecond and I felt only a little pressure during the insertion of the jewelery. I stood up and saw my new ring for the first time, it was beautiful!
I did not experience any bleeding the first night and tenderness in the area was at a minimum. I did however bleed on and off for a few days but, I think that is because I wait tables for a living and all that walking around because it did not bleed at home. I also was a little sore but, again I think my job contributed to that.
After about a week my hood was doing great and within two weeks it was like it had always been there. My diligent aftercare really helped, soaking 10min in sea salt two times a day and washing with provon at the end of my shower.
I've had my hood ring about six weeks now and I am so glad that I did it. I love it. Even though I did not get orgasms from walking around or riding in the car I have found that the ring is a great sex toy. A little rub on the bead or tug on the ring and woo hoo,I feel good.
In conclusion I would like to say if your thinking about a hood ring you should definatly do it. I am already making plans to go back for another one. Also, if you are in Oklahomoa City 23rd st is the place to go.
