I had wanted my hood done for quite some time, but was really hesitant about getting it done. It was a pretty spur of the moment decision to get it done. I already have several piercings, lip done at either corner of my mouth, a labret, nostril, nipple and I've got my ear stretched. I wasn't too concerned with the pain, just curious as to what it'd feel like. I read a bunch of experiences on BME and most of them said it wasn't bad at all. I had both nipples pierced, but for some reason they gave me a real problem with healing and I just recently had to take the right one out because it was migrating. The idea of a split nipple just didn't appeal to me.
I called up the guy who had just recently done two tattoos for me to make an appointment. He's a body piercer by trade and a tattoist by necessity. He said he didn't want to do it because he had no privacy at his new place of business. I was bummed cuz he was such a cutie and I know he would've made it an enjoyable experience. His wife is also a piercer at another studio. He said he'd call her right away and make the appointment for me.
The week went fast and I was excited as all hell. I wasn't worried or anything, just very excited. We got there at about 5:45pm and filled out the necessary papers. I was surprised that she didn't even ask for ID, but it could've been because I've been tattooed there before. I was watching this guy get tattooed and for some reason, I just couldn't stop smiling. I found it so humorous- he kept wincing in pain. It always makes me laugh when these big, burly guys whine when they get pierced or tattooed. Finally, she led us into the back room. It was a tiny room and there was a crib that took up more than half of the room. I didn't even notice until I was on the table that her daughter was IN the crib. This made me feel very uncomfortable. I was thinking, "should I even do this here?" My husband was rather unnerved by the whole situation, too. He couldn't even fit in the room to hold my hand! I guess I was too dead-set on doing it and up came the skirt and off came the panties. The room and everything was clean, so that was all that mattered to me at the time. She asked if I wanted a ring or barbell, and I was sure I wanted a ring so the bead would rest in just the right spot. I wanted a 12ga, but she didn't have anything small enough for down there, so we settled on a 14ga CBR. She began cleaning me off. I mentioned that I knew some women weren't suited for a horizontal piercing and she said, "oh! I'm glad you said something, I normally just do them vertically." My main reason for not wanting a vert is because I was afraid it'd interfere with oral sex. Grin She made two different pairs of dots and I let my husband decide which placement looked best. She put the clamps on and told me to tell her if they were too tight. They pinched a little bit and felt pretty uncomfortable, but it was nothing I couldn't handle. I could've sworn I felt her slide in a receiving tube, but I didn't think that was used for a horizontal hood. (Is it?) She asked if I was ready and told me to take a deep breath, let it out, deep breath, let it out... I could feel the needle just barely touching me... deep breath, and I breathed out and felt a sharp, warm pain. The pain was NOTHING compared to my nipples. It was all over within a few seconds, the ring was in place and I was so happy! She smiled and complimented on how good it looked. My husband also came in to admire it.
She went over the aftercare, no sex for a while, but I'll know when I'm ready, etc. It bled a few drops that night, but nothing significant. I've had no pain whatsoever, just some tenderness. No crusties and it moves very smoothly. I love it and I can't wait to use it to its maximum capacity! ;) I love how it looks. It's very dainty, just the perfect size for my anatomy. I don't like the look of really big rings down there. To me, it detracts from the natural beauty whereas small jewelry accentuates it. Just a tip: if you plan on having sex soon after it's pierced, make sure you and he wash before and clean your piercing immediately afterwards.
