A year ago, (pre-BME membership), I knew nothing about body modification. With the exception of single ear lobes, I was "unmodified." In fact, I knew no one with a tattoo or a body piercing. I am not proud of such ignorance and I am glad that BME opened my eyes to new realities. Given these facts, I suppose one might legitimately ask why a clitoris piercing for a first piercing? Why not something less extreme, less intense? My interest was not so much in the piercing experience itself, but rather in the results. After four weeks, I can say that the piercing deserves every possible accolade. (For example, I can come with just the caress of a fan or the slight vibration generated from driving on the freeway. Just getting up from a sitting position is an amazing rush...) I smile a lot these days. If this sounds like "over stimulation," it is manageable, at least for me. The piercing has "settled down" from the first wild five or six days.

Last summer I "decided" I wanted a clitoris piercing, probably in a fantasy or semi-fantasy sort of way. At the time, no other body piercing interested me. Besides, I have a virtually non-existent hood, which made the decision easier. My clit sadly does not fall into the gloriously huge category. So I purchased a very good pump system that I used every day (almost) for about nine months. Periodically, I also used a snakebite kit (see BME nipples gallery to view the larger version). (Anyone who is interested in increasing the size of their clit in this way is welcome to email me for all the recommendations and suggestions learned through trial and lots of errors). In retrospect, I really wish I had taken a "pre" photo to see exactly how much I accomplished from all that time and effort. I can tell you it was lots of fun. I know there was some improvement, but not gigantic.

By far the most important challenge was finding a Master Piercer with extensive experience in clitoris piercings. It was not an easy search, even in Southern California. I was incredibly lucky to find Glenda of Glenda's Tattoos & Body Piercing. She has successfully done clit piercings for 13 years, including one she did on herself. I had never been in a tattoo/body piercing studio before, so I had no preconceived notions or basis for comparison. Glenda's is a warm, caring, comfortable environment; it is not pretentious or intimidating -- even for the novice like myself. The piercing room is separate from the individual tattooing rooms. It is like a comfy and sterile doctor's examining room. The privacy of the piercing room is much appreciated.

Glenda herself is a consummate professional, which includes being extremely careful and picky about every aspect related to her piercings (e.g. changes her gloves all the time, sterilizes tools, jewelry, only uses single-use needles, etc.). And yet, Glenda is always relaxed, calm, under control, and sensitive to the needs of the client. Glenda has the eyes of a great surgeon; she sees things that I can only barely feel. She radiates sunshine and confidence. I especially like the fact that she never makes me feel like an idiot, even if I deserve it. For I have to have been the client from hell, the ultimate nightmare.

No excuses. Except for Glenda's fast reactions and self control, I am sure I would have severely damaged or even lost my clit when my left knee smashed Glenda's hand holding the clamp, while the needle was about half way through. I was also making a lot of noise, which could probably be heard throughout the studio. The piercing hurt much, much more than I had ever contemplated, particularly as the needle reached the hard middle part of the clitoris. For me this was pure pain, having nothing to do with sexual pleasure. If I had been experienced, I would have known that the pain is gone immediately after the needle is through. I did not know that.

Four weeks later and completely healed, Glenda pierced my clitoris for the second time. This time I used Emla cream from the BME Shop (great service) and I used the table and stirrups, both of which I obviously needed. The Emla cream works so well that only one moment hurt and that only slightly. Glenda worked a very long time to achieve the perfect placement. She used a ss 14g 5/8" curved barbell that moves up and down, providing the most delicious sensations. Thanks to Glenda, this is an exquisite piercing that is perfectly comfortable sitting or standing (pictures to follow).

I have had no healing complications and by three weeks it was essentially healed. After care was simple: saline solution and a mild antibacterial soap (a tiny, tiny amount lathered and rinsed very well) twice a day, and, of course, only clean hands when touching the piercing.

I did have a "problem" with the piercing about two weeks into the healing process. I noticed some white, thick viscous material at the top entry hole. I decided to drive the hundred miles to have Glenda take a look. She said it was merely dead cells and that it was nothing to be concerned about. I was so relieved and happy.

If you are interested in this clit piercing experience, please feel free to email me. In my opinion, this piercing is the best kept secret ever.
