I've been a follower of the body modification community for quite some time now, but due to societal pressure and environmental reasons, I haven't been able to take part nearly as much as I would have liked to. Before today, the only mods I had were a 12g tongue piercing and a branding done on my thigh with a cautery pen. I have been fascinated with heavy mods (especially genital piercings) since I can remember, and the time was never right...until this weekend :)

With three days off and no plans, I figured I would be able to just chill at home and coddle my piercing for the first few days to give it a good start on healing. After a few weeks of research (mostly thanks to bmezine), I had decided to get a Prince Albert from Erin at Chameleon in Cambridge, MA. I called on Saturday, all pumped up and ready to go, to make sure everything was a go...and unfortunately Erin wasn't there. I had to hold off for another day :(

I took the extra time as an opportunity to do a little more research and spent the majority of the day reading up on everything I could find regarding the PA: history, procedure, healing time...and I found the Reverse PA. I instantly fell in love with it. I wondered how I had gone this far in life without it. I was infatuated and totally psyched.

I woke up today with my adrenaline already pumping in anticipation. I showered, shaved, ate, and was out the door with a smile on my face and a fantastic sense of purpose. A few hours later, after signing in and waiting a bit for my turn, Erin came out and introduced herself, and informed me that while she had done countless PAs and a few apadravyas, she had never performed just the reverse PA. I was fairly surprised that in over a decade of piercing, she hadn't even done one, but I knew her reputation and was actually kind of pumped that I could be her first. After confirming that I really did want to get the reverse PA, she apologetically explained that the wait was going to be a bit longer – the one receiving tube that they had was in the autoclave at the time, so it would be another 45 minutes or so. I had nothing better to do (and was getting some serious anticipatory adrenaline), so I went for a walk.

Time seemed to expand and contract (as it normally does when you're waiting for anything outside of your normal routine) and after all the calculating and pondering and waiting, the time came. Erin called me into a sparsely decorated but cheerfully clinical room and asked politely for me to drop trou. Without hesitation, I hopped on the table with my black boxers at my ankles (black boxers are so key for genital piercings) and Erin started by sterilizing my glans and urethra. She marked where we were both pretty sure was a good spot in the center of my glans and got the receiving tube ready.

I'm not sure whether it was just because of the massive adrenaline high I was riding, or whether the procedure just wasn't that painful, but I was definitely not in as much pain as I had expected. Within a minute, Erin had inserted the receiving tube, pierced my cock, and put in the CBR. No screaming, no clenching of muscles, just a deep breath in and out. I think it may just have been a perfect culmination of events – combined with some sounding that I have been experimenting with – that made this a relatively pain-free experience. Also interesting was the relative lack of blood - I had read that PAs had a tendency to bleed profusely, so I was all kinds of prepared for a crimson deluge, but none came. Erin shrugged and said that was normally the case with a piercings that she had done through the glans.

I tipped Erin and left, stopping at CVS on my way home to pick up some saline solution to clean my new friend. As soon as I got home, I stripped down and stood in front of the mirror for a while, admiring my new addition. I highly recommend that anyone who is even thinking of getting some hardware downstairs just go ahead and do it. It's so worth it.

Some helpful tips that I learned:

1.Do your homework – the more you learn about before you get to the piercing salon, the better

2.Always call ahead to make sure your piercing artist is going to be there

3.Black boxers are totally key for genital piercings – boxers allow just enough movement without being totally constricting and black because...well...it's going to bleed a bit.

4.Tips to your piercer are greatly appreciated.
