Today is August 29, 2005. I decided to do my own reverse prince albert about two weeks ago, and today was the day! I was a professional body piercer here in Colorado Springs at a shop called Eternal Tattoo after serving a one-year apprenticeship in San Marcos, California back in 1998. So it should be stated that no one should EVER attempt any procedure of this kind, or any other, on themselves...unless of course you are like me and feel a great deal of fulfillment by sticking needles through yourself! Just be very very careful about what you try. It takes a great deal of self control not to "back out" when it starts to hurt more than you thought it might.

I did my own p.a. about two years ago and I still vividly remember that it really really hurt! I know the flesh on the top of the penis head is far thicker than that on the bottom, and I was a little hesitant about doing this with out a little help. So I went to see a friend of mine who owns a shop to get some topical lidocaine. I got all of my equipment set up and applied the lidocaine on the area and wrapped it with cellophane for about thirty minutes. When the area was sufficiently numb, I made my entry mark using gentian violet and a toothpick. I then inserted a receiving tube into my urethra to allow the 8 gauge needle safe passage through the head to exit the urethra. The lidocaine worked great for the initial insertion of the needle...but about half way through I could feel every millimeter of penetration. I have done many, many piercings on myself including my frenums, p.a., septum, bridge, madison, etc...so I have a good amount of experience about how a needle feels when it slices a clean hole through the flesh. This, however, was a bit more intense. The head of the penis while very soft is very thick and fibrous. I could actually hear the needle cutting through the many layers of flesh and the final pop into the urethra.
When the needle finally broke the inside of the urethral plane, the receiving tube slipped out of my hand! I had my wife there to assist me, and when I paused to grab the receiving tube blood began to run out of my urethra and out through the top of the needle. My wife was taken aback by the amount of blood, but stuck with me to help swab it out of the way while I re-inserted the receiving tube. I was pretty shocked by all of the blood gushing from the entry wound, and I'm sure anyone with a weak stomach would have lost it! My wife was actually afraid for a minute there that I might pass out and she would have to rush me to the ER! I was more worried that SHE was going to pass out and not be there to lend me the third hand that I needed. Lining the tube back up inside of the urethra with a needle already through was a bit of a challenge, but I got it lined up and was able to push the needle the rest of the way through. The final push was by far the most painful part of the whole procedure, but at the same time definitely the most gratifying.
At this point the pain was shadowed by the excitement of seeing an 8 gauge needle inserted through the top of the head of my penis and exiting through the urethra. Now comes time for jewelry. I selected a ¾ inch diameter captive bead ring to match the one I have in my p.a. The jewelry went through with out incident and the bleeding subsided in about ten minutes. I had to wrap up my penis with sterile gauze for the night as the bleeding still persisted a little bit. My wife and I went to dinner with some friends and I completely forgot it was even there! When we got home there was very little soreness and the bleeding was minimal. I love the look of the reverse p.a. and I am excited to put it to good use! I now have an 8 gauge p.a., 8 gauge reverse p.a., 10 gauge frenum on bottom behind the head, and a 12 gauge frenum on top behind the head. Even after the receiving tube mishap, and all the blood pouring out, I am very happy with my new piercing and excited to use it when it is all healed up!
Again, I feel it necessary to stress that a piercing of this magnitude should not be attempted by anyone on themselves with out 110% confidence in their abilities and a very high pain threshold. It is very different to pierce than it is to be pierced. Thank you to BME for letting me share this experience for all to read.
