I have spent about a year thinking about getting a genital piercing and the one I liked the look of was the RPA. So this was great, I had chosen the look I wanted, next was to convince the gf, this took a bit of convincing but she sort of oked it, as long as I was doing it for myself and not for her.

My gf had been looking at a monroe for sometime and so we went to Pierced Up at Bristol (UK) my gf went first and a few minutes later she came out with her desired 'hole'. I went in, a bit nervous and Patrick who is a great piercer went through what an RPA meant in the long term. First and fore most there is near to fuck all info on the RPA and either gets lumped in with the Apadravya or PA. Patrick warned me of a serious healing time, so I went a way to reconsider or look up more info. After checking out many sites (the usual bme etc), it averaged out between 1 and 3 months although many sites claim longer, probably for legal reasons.
Went back after work on the 10th feb 2004 and went ok I'm having one. Patrick got his stuff ready and my nerves went to pot. Told Patrick that I was steady as a rock and now a wreck. So Caroline, how has the pretties pierced face you'll ever see (lost count and don't want to stare) made me a cup of tea. After the cup, went in sat down, talked it through. Saw the needle in the 'wrapper' and ignored it. Got all lined up and ready to go, I asked for something to bite on due to nerves gone completely, Patrick stuffed a glove with some tissue and I chewed and then bit as the needle as thick as a biro went through my glans. Ow! Few minutes later ring in done and well happy, had another glove stuff with tissue 'strapped' around the new addition and drove home.
Well the first few days was fun, take off glove bit bloody, first two pees stung a bit and were slightly bloody. Sat in 8 hours of bliss at work as the glans tensed and relaxed around the ring, it felt great. Stopped drinking coffee coz it hurt and switched to tea and water. Also noticed after peeing wipe ring with your urine to clean it. After 2 weeks looked healthy and after.
My routine was simple: eat Vit C, gave up smoking coz of the kids and drinking was not a problem as I was not allowed out due to the new child so vices were kept to a minimum. Dip penis into salt water for 10-15 mins and then lube with anti bac soap for my exercises. The exercises was first to go the ring to comfortably rotate about a dozen times, this took about four days. In addition to rotating the wiggling from left to right and if you feeling up to it rotate and wiggle at the same time. I always 'warm up' with the dozen rotations first.
On the 5th week and Patrick had seen the penis with its ring (a mere 2.4mm (10ga) and 18mm ID (3/4") said it looked good and we considered the next step the stretch. Well that fucking hurt too! But now I am sporting a nice 3.1mm (8ga) 20mm ID (4/5").
When i first got this piercing was so naive about the sexual side. For me it was asthetic, until some one pointed out what the RPA is about:
"OK the female perspective here. My Love has an RPA among other Art and I must say, that the RPA is such a super piercing!! No BS guys..this little puppy is just the thing for getting to the very top!! I love RPA. For me, it get's right to my cervix and the nudging threre is superb! There are also lots of tongue tricks I have learnt with this little addition."
Despite the other people on this site who have had bad experiences. Get it done by a pro, get a 10g ring don't mess with it. 12g say no, 8g maybe 14g just walk away. 10g is good. Don't even accept half way measures such pierce with one size, stretch and then ring. Its a 10g Ring in one no messing. Stretching it - get the pro. Get the whole lined up as you want it, look at piccies of other RPAs. Do the research. And when you have sex, lube up and lube well small rings cause alot of pressure on the glans. Larger rings are nicer :).
Another thing I am uncircumcised and it still works. If your getting it done do it propperly.
