I can now truly understand what the saying "hands on learning tool" really mean's. At the end of one of the monthly company meeting's I was approached by another piercer Dan. At this time I was challengingly informed that he needed to perform a reverse P. A. on someone and none of the other men wanted to volunteer, being me I accepted. We then proceeded to pick out the jewelry that was going to be used, during this I was talked out of doing this with a 14g needle and doing it with an 8g. So after a long discussion with Dan about any type of problems a larger gauge might cause, my mind was put to rest by his reassurance. So here we go, about to do something most men would cringe even thinking about and at the same time realizing that another man was going to be the one doing the procedure. Now hearing the buzzer go off for the autoclave makes it all hit home.

So now I step into the room where the procedure will be taking place. As I step in I notice that Dan and myself are not the only two individuals in here, as well as us there are three women who are standing in for this as well. One of these women and myself work in the same shop, the other two I have met on a personal level just then, and then Dan tells me everything from the waist must be lowered below the knees. Next step is to clean and prep the area using alcohol and green soap, after that a sharpie was used to mark where the piercing was going to be done. After that I was instructed to have a seat and just try to relax for him.
Dan now begins to open up the sterilized packages, the first of many containing the receiving tube, now guys here comes the hard part after getting my over my anxiety he applies a little Vaseline to the tube and explains to me that what appears to me to be this enormous piece of metal is going to inserted into my urethra. The insertion of this tool was I thought to be the most unsettling part of the entire piercing, now with that task out of the way it was onto the actual puncture. At this point it takes Dan over 10 minutes to completely calm me down, guys you as well will be a little nervous once the needle is actually out of the package too. So Dan uses good bedside manor and works with me on breathing through the jitters and continues on with his job, I then hear him say "Okay on three we will pierce this time One.....Two.....Three". And then a sharp quick pinch followed by a burning feeling I know what you are thinking and the burning only lasts for about 10 minutes.
Now Dan goes ahead and follows the needle through with jewelry which if done correct will be painless, after that it was onto the aftercare instructions which were as follows; Wash with Dial anti-bacterial soap, do not use alcohol, peroxide. Do not touch the piercing unless you have completely washed your hands first, and to the killer for all of us No sex for at least 4 to 6 weeks. I know you thought you were going to get to run out that night and try this bad boy out well guess what your wrong, there is a down side to this piercing. The day I had this done I realized an important fact about it, that it does bleed a considerable amount. I was awoken that night from a dead sleep with the feeling of something cold on my leg. I stagger to the bathroom to find the entire left upper leg soaked in blood, although very disturbing I cleaned everything up and then placed a phone call to Dan who I awoke out of a dead sleep as well. I explained what had happened and was reassured tha t this is normal, he instructed me to wrap my penis in sterile gauze and to help the blood coagulate. This went on like that for about 48 hours following the piercing, so if it does happen to you don't freak out like I did that is normal.
I would like to end this by saying that if you are thinking about doing this piercing, the good by far out weighs the bad. I can say that my girlfriend enjoys it more than I do. So don't be afraid of what your friends might tell you about how bad it is going to hurt you will never know unless you go and try it out for yourself. I would like to thank Dan for performing the procedure for me as well as for his professional attitude towards the entire procedure. I would also like to thank BME for allowing me to share my personal story with other BME readers
Thanks,
James
