It was late one night, long after the shop had closed, and I was sitting outside with Jay-Sin, the only piercer at Star, and a good friend of mine. We were looking through his book of pictures and work, and decided that he didn't have enough photos of male genital work. Since I had previously gotten my Prince Albert done, I thought that I would go with a reverse PA. Now, I know that it's a fairly painful experience, but I may have gone into it with a little more gusto than I should have. I have multiple genital piercings, including a 10g PA, and 2 10g frenums, along with 3/4inch ears and a 12g vertical bridge, so I figured that I was ready for anything.

Well, the one thing I'd really like to impart on people is that it hurts... kind of a lot actually. It was way worth it though, but more about that later. Now about the whole experience. I went in later that week, talked to Jay-Sin for a while, and waited outside and chain-smoked while he finished up a piercing he was doing. I went into the room, dropped my shorts and boxers and hopped up on the chair. Jay-Sin and I chatted for a while he prepared everything that was needed for the "procedure." One thing I really love and respect about the guy is his little problem. Besides being a complete perfectionist, he's completely germaphobic. It's always nice to know that the person piercing your junk is so worried about germs and infection he triple checks to make sure that every exposed inch of you is cleaned off, and that he changes his gloves what seems to be like a million times during the whole experience. We threw some Bad Religion into the stereo, rocked out for a few minutes to our favorite band, and got ourselves mentally, physically and spiritually prepared for the ordeal.

He proceeded to mark the exit hole 10 or 11 times before we decided that neither of us could agree on what was center. So at that point we brought in my friend to look at it, tell us we were both crazy and proceed to run blushing out of the room. We finally agreed on the spot after many long minutes, which really seemed like hours, of remarking and looking in the mirror. I wanted it to line up perfectly with my PA; which we had to take out before the piercing, but after the marking. Before we started Jay-Sin had to run out of the room to grab a new receiving tube from the autoclave, because the ones we tried were either too large for my urethra or too small for the piercing. At that point I noticed 2 kind of straight-laced looking girls talking in the lobby about getting their tongues pierced. I decided to pretend that I was getting mauled during the procedure, just to be funny, and proceeded to make all kinds of pain noises, while laughing hysterically. Finally we go t down to the piercing, and I think karmically, the whole laughing at the girls thing got back to me, cus whoa, I yelped. Ok, maybe yelped was putting it mildly. I think at one point I was grabbing the chair and yelling out, "oh f**k, oh f**k, oh f**k." Finally, after a few painful minutes of pushing the needle through, and me making Jay-Sin stop for breathers, and to turn the music up to drown out my cries of protest, the needle was all the way through. Bad part was over. It took a minute to get the jewelry through, but once it was done, it was an amazing and rewarding experience. I had to sit in the chair for a few minutes afterwards to catch my breath and enjoy the rush of endorphins to my head. Then Jay-Sin wrapped my sore and slightly bleeding package in a sterile surgical wrap, taped it down, and told me to be gentle with it for the next few days.

I got all of the aftercare instructions, although I did end up wondering afterwards how long is was going to take before it stopped hurting to pee, which I noticed was kind of an uncomfortable side effect of my PA. But all in all, it was incredible, and I don't regret it at all. The piercing healed up in record time, and was completely healed in about 2 months. I would totally recommend anyone that's thinking about genital work to give it some thought. There are of course, some interesting sexual side effects to getting it done. You have to be very gentle with your partner, as it has a tendency of hurting them and it hurts for a while afterwards, but it can be extremely pleasurable too!
