On the way home from work today, I decided to make my own Prince's Wand.

Of course, I didn't do this on the spur of the moment - I'd been fantasizing about having one ever since I got my Prince Albert piercing over ten years ago. I expected to enjoy a real wand since I had very much enjoyed urethra play in the past, starting around puberty and on rare "experimenting" occasions since.

But somehow, I never got around to buying a real wand. Then just recently, I bought a heavy (16 oz) chrome plated ball stretcher, and the sensation reminded me just how much fun alternative genital play was, and how much fun it has to have something going on in your pants when you're just walking around, that nobody else knows about.

So I started thinking about wands again. I did some research on BME and elsewhere, and found a few places with good reputations and apparently beautiful workmanship. But the prices were a little out of my reach right now (I'm buying a house in Denver, which is expensive)

Being a fairly handy guy with tools and tinkering, I began to wonder how I might go about making my own, at least temporarily, until I could afford a professionally made wand.

making the wand:

It occurred to me that I had most of the parts in my junk box. I'm a bit of a mad scientist, so I collect mechanical junk and strange parts. After looking through my oddball parts bin, I discovered that I had:

* a 1" chrome plated steel ball already threaded 5/8-16 (originally used for a high voltage spark gap)

* a 5/8" chrome plated steel ball threaded 10-24 (ditto)

* a 3/8" stainless steel rod already rounded on one end. It seemed a little big, although I had played with some moderately large sounds, but a quick test with some lube proved it was just fine - large enough to be a slight stretch, but not so large that it hurt. It felt _great_, and I hadn't even started the project yet!

I have worn a 1" / 4 gauge captive bead ring in my PA for years, so I expected the first inch or so would not be difficult, but I was surprised to be able to get it half way in with ease. I jumped to the conclusion that I'd be able to take the full 3.5" length without any trouble. Fortunately, (as you'll read later) I was correct.

I took my good fortune with the parts as a sign that I was _meant_ to make my own wand, and I set to work with alacrity. Essentially all I had to do was cut the rod to length, thread one end, put the big ball on the end, drill and tap a hole in the side, and make a short shaft to join the side ball to the wand. I did not attempt to drill a hole down the center, since I don't have a lathe, and I was impatient to try it out. The rod was already rounded on one end with a spherical surface, and polished fairly well.

I made the side bar from a hardened 10-24 socket head cap screw by de-tempering it with a torch and grinding down the head until it was the right diameter and length to be threaded. As it turned out, I made the post which goes through the PA hole a bit short - it just _barely_ fits without pinching me.

Since I super-glued the side post into the side ball, I may have to sacrifice the ball to make another. I'll worry about that later. I will have to change that piece soon anyway, as it is the only part that isn't stainless or chrome plated, and I'm worried that it might rust.

Also, I'm sure I'd be less likely to abrade my dangly bits if I had made it with a lathe and better tools than I have, and if I had used finer threads on the side bar, but I didn't really have the very fine taps and dies which would have been necessary, nor a lathe, etc.

inserting it for the first time:

Not wanting to embed metal particles in my urethra, or develop a urinary tract infection, I washed the parts thoroughly with anti-bacterial soap and water and a brush, followed by a long soak in Hibiclens (a surgical scrub soap containing a powerful bacteriocide) followed by a final long soak in hydrogen peroxide. I figured if any bug could live through all that, it deserves to take over the world.

I used K-Y for a lubricant, because my girlfriend (who has some background in medicine) suggested that grease or oil-based lubricants such as Neosporin ointment were not recommended for internal use (ie; catheters) since they don't wash out easily.

Pushing the wand in all the way was an exquisite experience unlike any I have had before - I don't think I've ever used anything quite that large. It felt great though, and I took my time as I approached the constriction part way down the shaft. The wand passed the restriction surprisingly easily and without pain, and soon slid in up to the hilt. I made sure to back and fill a few times as I went, to make sure the passage was well lubricated.

I did find it a bit difficult to locate the hole for the side bar, as others have

mentioned. Although finding the hole in the wand was tricky, especially when everything in sight was slathered with K-Y, I at least managed to do it without any major pinches or pain.

So now I am wearing it as I write this. I took a break a few minutes ago to show my girlfriend. She looked amused, and expressed a few concerns, and finally ended with, "well... just be careful." I'm starting to believe that nothing I could do would shock her.

I will probably not leave the wand in for long, at least at first. I expect I'll want to get used to it. The wand is about 3-1/2" long not including the big ball on the end. The weight of it pulling my dick down feels great, especially when going for a walk. I can't wait to try it in combination with the heavy ball stretcher!

In fact, I think I will do just that as soon as I have finished posting this.

So now I am a confirmed wand enthusiast, and as soon as I have paid off a few bills, I'll be getting a professionally made wand about the same size.

One thing I could not do was put a mirror-like polish on the wand. I did my best with very fine emery paper, followed by steel wool, and it was pretty bright and smooth by the time I was done. Once I get a buffer, I'll polish it up even better than it is now.

My GF, who is amazingly open-minded and has accepted all my kinks up to now, has finally decided I'm nuts - she just can't imagine that it would feel good to stick a piece of steel up your dick. But it does. She made it clear that nothing was going to go up _her_ urethra!

I suspect that a slightly shorter, more finely polished wand will feel even better, although I really don't sense any discomfort as I write this.

If I have any new experiences with this wand, or when I get a real wand professionally made, I will post a followup.
