It was the first week of October in 2005 when I went to spanish Mallorca with a good friend for holiday. Our hotel was located in the area of El Arenal and just the first evening we met 3 girls from Switzerland who had their room just five doors next to ours. As we hung out at the hotelbar with a lot of vodka and milk/43 I noticed that one of them had a nice looking surface piercing on the upper site of her left wrist.

But most people in good old Germany don't like piercings and tattoos the way I do and for that reason I never found a good place for a piercing which is invisible when I wear normal close at work. I thought about tongue or nipple but both where at least not what I was looking for. The only thing that seemed to fit was a genital piercing, but most of them were way too extreme or had a few disadvantages like the PA (I love to pee standing ;-). Finally I wanted a surface piercing because I could choose nearly every place on my body and it is at least something very special which not every trendy teenager wears. But most piercers in Germany don't do surface piercings for well knows reasons of not healing up or growing out.
So I asked her about that surface piercing which did not look like it would grow out or something else. She told me that it was only three days old and that she made it here on Mallorca for only 40 Euros (in Germany you won't get a nipple piercing under 60 Euros). I was really surprised because it looked that fine and didn't seem to be inflamed or even red.
A few days later we went to a Tattoo and Piering Studio called Mystic Body Art to have a Hanna Tattoo. I talked to the owner about a surface piercing and he showed me a few pics of different piercing. And then I saw a picture of a pubic piercings and just wanted to have it. I asked him a few things about growing out etc. and he told me about his own three pubic piercings and said there would be no problems.
Naturally I still wanted to go swim in this holiday so I waited until the last day. Having a few drinks on the bar it was all just more fun than jumpiness. I went to the studio and checked a few last things but every thing looked really clean and he showed me the piercing. It was a 4 cm long PTFE bar and I was surprised about this flexible material which I never knew before.
So I want into a separate room and took of my pants. After some time I began to jitter a little but only because it was so cold lying half naked on that couch. Once again he told me everything would be fine and began to shave the desired pubic hairs, which were at least short everywhere. The skin bleed a little bit but that didn't matter to me. We discussed the right place and he marked it with two points.
Now there was no way back but I had no need to stop what was about to happen. The piercer told me he would start now and I should turn my head away if I don't wanted to the it. But I wanted to see every little detail of my first piercing. It took only 2 seconds until the needle came out of the skin again but these 2 seconds were mere intensive than any other 2 seconds a have ever lived. Feeling the sweet pain of the sterile needle making its way through my flesh was such an adrenaline rush that I just wanted him to make a hundreds of other piercings all over my skin right then. I took a look at it, smiled and took my clothes on again.
He told me a few things about the care of my new piercing and then I left. It all was over in 10 minutes but I guess I'll never forget there minutes. Back in Germany about 24 hours later it still looked very fine. No bleeding, no pain, not inflamed, not red, nothing. But I still felt a little unwell because everyone always told me that most of these piercings grow out very fast or never heal up. I went to a few websites to collect information about it and they all said the same. Finally I went out local piercer to talk about it. Meanwhile the piercing went a little bit red, but it never hurt. The piercer told me that it looks ok and is only a little bit inflamed which is normal. But he also told me that it would finally not heal out alright or grow out because usually surface bars are used for such piercings. He gave me a spray for disinfection and wished me good luck, which I have until today. One week later it seemed to be healed out totally. I used the disinfection spray few times a day, cleaned it with clear water and used some camomile tea against the infection. Only two week after I got it the piercing didn't make any trouble. Water, soap, having sex, it all was no problem and until today there is no sign of growing out or infecting again. One girl told me that she felt it very intensive when having sex in a few positions and I definitely don't want to miss the piercing and especially the experience of getting it.
