About 10 years ago, long before my first genital piercing, I was playing around myself, discovering my body, getting psychologically ready for a real genital piercing. I had a medical training, so I managed to pierce myself in relatively decent hygienic conditions, with an aesthetically nice result. This first pubic piercing was done at the base of the penis, but slightly more on the penis then on the base. Of course self-piercing should be done with a lot of caution (or should be avoided), and it's not because you think that hygienically it's done OK that there will be no problems afterwards. In my case this was a rejection of the piercing. I later understood that the internal trajectory was probably too short, the ring used a bit too heavy, and the piercing maybe a bit too high on the penis. After a few weeks the migration was so obvious that I removed it. A minor scar remained, in fact just a white line on the skin.

I later got a PA, a guiche and an ampallang, all done by professionals. They are healed now. But the dream to have one day a real pubic piercing remained. I waited because I wanted to be sure all the others were nicely healed first, and because I didn't want it to interfere with some mild scrotal stretching I have been doing over the last months.

A few days ago I had planned to go to a big party in the afternoon. I took a long bath, spend half an hour in front of the mirror, put on my nicest clothes, and left home. I found out half an hour later that I was mistaken : the party was a week later, the venue (a castle) was quiet and deserted. So I did drive home again, a bit annoyed that my weekend didn't go as planned. Out of this irritation, and after the time spend in the bathroom, getting all nice, grew the idea to go for a new piercing (yes human psychology can be strange).

I have a long list of piercings I've had, but quite a lot of them were removed because I just cannot have any visible ones (lets say no facial ones) because of my work position. So I concentrate on getting almost everything pierced that's not visible.

The old pubic piercing idea came back, so before leaving home I quickly did a pubic shave. I do this from time to time, because I think it feels good.

I met this friendly and young piercer in his shop here in town about 2 years ago. I did buy some jewelry there, but I never got pierced there. I had my other piercings done in Antwerp, but since I moved Antwerp is a bit far away to get pierced. I decided to try my luck at Steve's piercing shop.

It's a trendy clothing shop (skate and street style, with a very nice selection of shoes), with at the back a piercing shop. They recently rebuild the back of the shop, and there is now a decent piercing room. All the basic infrastructure is there, and the table is particularly nice. When I entered, the room was clean in general, but all over the tables and workbenches empty packaging and spare jewelry was lying around. A few minutes of cleaning up would have been better, but the long line of people waiting put some stress on Steve apparently. We did talk about some other hygiene related subjects. We also talked about my present genital piercings. Steve is heavily pierced, and does do genital piercings. But he seems fascinated by stretched genital piercings and he had a good look. I guess few of his customers have one.

I pulled my pants down and explained what I wanted. Because of my previous experience I did opt for a longer piercing. Steve has a good reputation for surface piercings. He used a U-shaped barbell, with a long horizontal part, 1.6 mm in diameter.

I insisted that I didn't want any "cold spray". The pain was minor, and the procedure quick. Afterwards I got my pants up, I didn't really inspect the new piercing. As if I wasn't curious how it was looking. I don't understand why I was suddenly in a hurry. I paid 50 € (normal price :75 €, but I got a reduction because Steve is a cool guy).

Once home I inspected the piercing without touching it. Nicely horizontal, nicely in the middle, looks great ! A minor irritation persisted over the following 24 hours, but the area was not red or tender at all. It even looks "healed", because even the entrance points are completely dry and not red at all. Of course I'll have to wait a bit longer before concluding that it's healed. But after my miraculously fast ampallang healing, I'm very hopeful for this piercing too.

Steve didn't give or sell aftercare products, but because of my medical training I have easy access to whatever product I need. I gently disinfected the 2 entrance points with a chlorohexidine-based product, and I change underwear twice a day (morning and evening).

I ran out of ideas for non-visible piercings, except surface bars. So I'm afraid this will be my last addition for a long time. All my other piercings are stretched, but I don't think this one is a candidate for that.
