Hello guys!!
At A Glance Author Anonymous Contact Anonymous@bme.anon IAM aotearoa Artist Jonathan Studio Perforations Location Houston, TX Well, I have been trying to get a pubic piercing for quite some time now. My first attempt was about 2 years ago when I asked one of my friends (who is also into piercings) to help me getting a pubic piercing. I don't know why but I like to do my genital piercings myself (except for the PA). Although my piercer is very very good, I've done all my 6 scrotal piercings myself.
Anyway, that night, I asked my friend to come over so we could both work on my pubic piercing. After reading BME, we sorted out a 'good' way to do it. We cleaned all the materials and marked the spots where the piercing would go. We used a 14 ga ring for my new pubic. It was located more on my pubis than it was on the begining of my shaft. The actual piercing didn't hurt at all, but it sure did for the next 2 or 3 months. So bad that I had to take it off. It started migrating, it never healed and it sure hurt like hell. I was very frustrated because I really loved my pubic.
About a month ago I decided it was time to get it done again, but since last time I had a big problem with migration, I decided to have it done professionally this time. I was on my way to Vancouver, Canada and had to stay in Houston for a couple of days, so I walked around Montrose (best place in Houston for night clubs and piercing places) to see if I could find a cool place to have my pubic done. When I finally did, I decided to go in and ask for my pubic. Jonathan was the piercer and he said that the piercing could be done in 10 minutes and that it was not painful at all. I though 'what the hell, let's get it done with' and so I did. I did all the paperwork while he got everything ready. Jonathan told me to drop my pants so he could shave the area. He started shaving my pubis and then he marked the spots where the piercing was going to be.
This time, it was not exactly on my pubis but instead it was a bit down my shaft. It's hard to explain the actual location but what I can tell for sure is that the pressure in that area is not as bad as it was in on the pubis. Maybe that's why my last pubic got rejected so bad. Anyway, he used some clamps to clamp my skin... when he was ready to pierce, he asked me 'you ready?' I must say it, I'm never ready to get a needle through my body but that's the exact moment when you say 'yeah'. I mean, if you're going to do it, you better get that done with right away, right? Deep breath and the needle's in! It looked so cool!!! I love the way piercings make me feel. I hate the pain but once that's done, piercings look awesome! He put the jewerly in and it was done. This time I didn't go for a ring but a curved barbell instead (a banana).
I'm very happy with my new piercing. Right now it looks way better than the other one, not only because it healed without any problems but because the jewerly is way better. I like the way my curved barbel makes my piercing look. It's not too big, not too small, just perfect (12 ga). Besides, it looks awesome with my 4 ga PA, my 2 hafadas and my 4-ring scrotal ladder! Not to mention my 2 nips too!
So, here's the advice... if you're planning on getting a pubic ring, get it done professionally. It's a very easy piercing to do if you want to do it yourself but the risk of migration or rejection is very high. You have to get it in the right spot otherwise it might reject (and that hurts like hell... believe, I know). When you get it, make sure it is not too big, I mean, the bigger it is, the more like it is to get rejected. 12 or 14 gauge is more than fine, then you can go to 10 ga if you want, but it's better to start off with a small gauge. It doesn't hurt at all and it looks bloody awesome, so go for it! Oh, one last thing, if you get a curved barbel instead of a ring, the risk of rejection is lower (at least that's what I think). It worked better for me. You can change it to a ring after a while, but it's better to start off with a barbel.
Good luck to all and I will be looking forward to your comments.
Cheers.
