While it is still fresh in mind and body I've put pencil to paper, as it were, to relate my experience.

Last night after thinking about these two piercings for almost a year, I decided I was going to do a vertical and horizontal pubic piercing. Before last night, I had 26 piercings, 6 of which I did myself. So after doing the 6 self pierced scrotum piercings, talking to two piercers I respect highly, and reading some articals I felt I was ready for the challange and knew what to expect.

All hygene protocals wre followed to the letter.

Marking the locations of the piercings took awhile. There were many trips back and forth to the bathroom from the livingroom to look at the marks in the full length mirror. I didn't want piercing stuff in bathroom, you know it isn't very sanitary even if you just cleaned it.

After getting the marks in just right places, I cleaned the excess marker off and swabed the area one more time. I put the forceps into place to do the vertical pubic first. I lined up the marks. My previous experience with the scrotum piercings was that the needle pretty much went right thru. But, the tissue of the pubic wall is much more resistant and took much more effort and focus to get the needle thru. Except for that, the piercing went very well with minor pain.

I had gotten the standard forceps to do the piercings but, when it came to the hoizontal pubic they turned out to be too big. I couldn't get enough tissue into the forcps to line up both of the marks. I kept trying for a while but had no luck. I had to get up and walk around a little while, my legs were getting stiff from sitting on the floor, and I needed to think it thru. I decided to try do the piercing freehand. So I sat back down, I put the needle on one mark and put the cork on the other side in such a way as to push the mark on that side towards the mark on the needle side. The technique worked very well. I knew once I started pushing the needle thru I couldn't stop or I might lose the exit side if I wasn't into the cork far enough. That didn't happen; all went well, I really didn't feel the needle go thru because the skin in the area was so inflamed from the fight with the forceps. 24 hours latter, I have some minor brusing which I'm sure is from the foceps.

Both piercings are 1/2" deep. The vertical pubic goes from the base of my penis vertically towards my naval and has a 10ga 5/8" SS barbell, the horizontal pubic is 5/8" above the vertical and has a 10ga 5/8" SS L bar. I felt the L bar would help reduce the pressure and reduce the chance of rejection.
