Artist Justin Berk

Well, let me start off by pre-framing this a bit. I've had many piercings in the past (16 total at one time), then slowly had to take them out due to work (most of the visable ones anyway). Feel free to e-mail me at jarrod.watson@yahoo.com if you have any questions, want to share your experience, or just to chat.

I have been debating on getting a PA for a few years. I've known my piercing artist for about 7 years now. He's an awesome guy -- so I decided to come back to Florida to get the PA done when I finally decided on getting it since he was the only guy I trust and know he does quality and clean work.

I arrived at the studio, walked up to the reception area and told the guy what I wanted to do and asked for Justin (the guy I was talking about above). He gave me a little bit of paperwork to fill out to update my file since I haven't been there in a while. After I completed the paperwork, the guy asked me if I wanted to get the cleaning solution (H2Ocean....awesome stuff!!!) and I paid for the piercing.

Justin then came into the lounge to meet me, he asked me what size I wanted to be pierced with, after discussing it a bit, we decided on a 10 gauge. He went back into his room and returned to tell me that it would be about half an hour because he ran out of the 10 gauge needles, but they have another shop about 15 minutes away so he was having someone bring some new ones over. No problem of course, I was a little nervous, so it was going to give me a little bit more time to chill out and try to calm my nerves. I flipped through a few tattoo magazines that were on the table and then started chatting with Justin.

After everything arrived, he came back and and collected me from the lounge. It was pretty much now or never at this point! He walked me into his studio and told me to get up on the chair. I climbed up, he closed and locked the door then began to set up all of the materials needed. He lined everything up on the countertop that he needed then took a seat on a chair next to the one I was in and walked me through the process step by step. He told me what I could expect to happen/feel.

After all of that was done, he asked me to unbutton my pants and pull down my underwear. I was wearing boxerbriefs, so I had to actually get them all the way off to be able to expose my penis. He put a medical cloth on my lap that had a hole in it to pull my penis through. He had two different rings that he was going to see which would be better (depending on how the head was shaped he said). He selected the bigger one (bigger is better, right? ;-) )

He told me to pretty much brace myself because the really uncomfortable part was here. It was time to insert the metal tube into my penis. This part SUCKED. It didn't really hurt too bad, but more uncomfortable, it's not everyday that something metal goes in there (at least for me). After it was in where he needed it, he started to turn it a little bit to make sure the entry hole in the tube was in the right place. He then held it in place and marked the point that would be pierced. Here comes the really bad part, time for the actual piercing. I began to take some slow breaths in and out to prepare a bit. He asked me again if I was ready, I said yes. After two more breaths he inserted the needle. It hurt, I'm not going to lie. It was a little more difficult than he anticipated because apparently, my skin is thick. It went through after a little more pressure and voila! One pierced penis! I started bleeding quite a bit (I'm a bleeder also I found out haha). Justi n finished putting the ball on and tightened it and I was all set. He put some gause around my penis to help with the bleeding while putting a little pressure on it.

After a few minutes, he cleaned everything up then put some more gause around my penis with tape to hold it still. He told me since I was bleeding quite a bit, I needed to keep that on me for a few hours. After I was all taped and bandaged up, I pulled my pants up (very carefully!) and got ready to leave. He went over the aftercare cleaning procedures for a few minutes to make sure I understood everything. He gave me written instructions again just in case I forgot and gave me his card also in case I had any questions/issues.

He gave me the cleaning solution I purchased in a bag and walked me out. I can't stress how professional and skilled Justin is. I'll always get my future work with him, even if I have to fly from San Diego again like I did this time.

On the drive home, it wasn't really that bad, just a little sore for a few minutes and I'm just taking it easy now and being very cautious.

Like I mentioned above, feel free to send me an e-mail at jarrod.watson@yahoo.com if you have any questions or want to share your experience with me. I def. will offer any advice and resources that I have with you! I love hearing from others about their experiences or just someone who may want to chat.

Good luck with your piercings!
