Hi all.

My wife and I decided a while ago that I should have a PA done in order to carry on our chastity play. We've been fooling around with various devices but hygiene and sizing have been two major issues, so we went for the 'clean' and 'permanent' solution. I should also mention here that I am uncut, so it might not be quite the usual piercing we've all seen.

I got my PA done at Steel Temple - fast, almost painless procedure (apart from the insertion of the reception tube which kinda hurt, but then again, the anesthetic worked good and I cannot really complain). It's a relaxed and funny place, and we had our share of laughs while having my piercing done. I got a small aftercare manual in printed form that I took home - it basically says what one should do after having their piercings done, mostly common sense advice - how to wash, using saline solution, how to use one's own urine as healing aid, what to do and especially what NOT to do until the piercing heals.

So here I am, a bit itchy, with my penis wrapped in two sterile pads, a piece of gauze and a condom on top of them all, coming home and trying not to notice the bit of a strange sensation in my pants. Of course, wife is curious and wants to see 'it', but surprise! - I look down to find a condom full of blood. Not good, I think, and head straight for the bathroom to take a pee and wash the whole mess. I was told that I should expect 'a little bleeding' but what I found was far beyond my imagination.

Wish I could clean everything... Peeing stings, with the pressure of the urine washing the blood clots away, and once the clots washed out, the blood starts coming and coming and coming... 2 minutes later my bathtub is 'Murder She Wrote', all red like my legs. No matter what I'm trying to do, the bleeding just won't stop.

I eventually manage to pack everything back in the last 2 sterile pads I have at home, torture myself to death trying (and eventually succeeding) to put another condom on (this was the last too) and head straight to the ER at the local hospital. It's midnight, Christmas Eve, no pharmacies open and I'm totally lost in a new city. Anyway the doctor sees me and decides everything is fine, no infection and no swelling, gives me a tetanus shot, two catheter condoms (rigid as hell) and a handful of sterile pads, and sends me home. Speaking of tetanus, it might be a good idea to have a boost prior to the piercing, especially if you haven't had your vaccines updated in a while.

And here comes the PRE-care part I mentioned in the title, hands-on experience I got and I wish someone would have told me about before starting the whole thing. I went shopping the next day, and here's my list. HAVE THIS AT HAND before even thinking of going to get yourself pierced.

- 4 bottles of irrigation saline solution (500 ml) - Sodium Chloride Irrigation USP.

- 2 rolls of gauze bandage - cotton, 7,5 cm x 9 m

- 2 boxes of sterile gauze pads - cotton, 7,5 x 7,5 cm (box has 25 pieces each). DO NOT use tampon-like pads, they're too rigid and cannot be shaped around penis.

- 1 box of condoms (30, Trojan). If you can find NON-lubricated condoms, it's even better. I couldn't...

- 1-2 bags of latex gloves (sterile, etc).

- 1 bottle of saline solution for contact lenses (300 ml, pointed dripper).

- 1 bag of bathroom disposable cups (paper, 50-100 ml).

- 2 rolls of bathroom tissue, preferably individually packed (they're more clean that way) or 30-40 sheets of sterile media (30 x 30 cm) if you can find / afford them.

- 1 pair of medical scissors (sterilized or soaked in alcohol for 24 hours)

- 1 box of Q-Tips (at least 50)

NOTE: the saline bottles usually come as single-use items. If you try to untwist the cap normally it will break and the bottle won't hold tight for the next use. Instead, SCREW the cap clockwise and pierce a small hole on top of the bottle. It's easy for applications and minimizes the air contamination of the content, and you can reuse the bottle. Usually you'll be expecting to empty a bottle a day, depending on your ability to hold yourself from peeing.

What to do:

FIRST AND FOREMOST, WASH YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP. TWICE. Then put on surgical gloves or work without them if you feel clean enough.

The piercing will bleed a bit for a while. (Mine stopped completely after 3 days). Prepare two layers of toilet paper as clean media to lay the other items onto. Assuming you are doing this in your bathroom you might want to clean your toilet seat, bathtub and bath counter with a disinfectant. Just to be on the safe side.

Open the condom, leave it in package. Open two sterile pads and cut a piece of approximately 40 cm of gauze. Place everything on the toilet paper. Fill a paper cup with saline. CAREFULLY remove the condom (cut the thick base ring with the scissors and tear it open).

You may notice that the bandages they gave you at the studio are filled with blood and a bit hardened. DO NOT PULL. Irrigate them with saline solution and carefully unwrap. The saline solution will melt away the clotted blood. After the glans comes clean, soak it entirely in the saline-filled paper cup. Pour the contents on the glans, then use more saline from the bottle to wash. If you pee, do not worry about urine dripping from your penis. Urine itself is sterile to one's body and will definitely NOT cause you trouble. Also, try to wash away any blood that has stuck on the jewelry. CAREFULLY use a Q-Tip if you have stubborn clots.

Get the sterile pads (one at a time) and gently wrap them around the glans and piercing. Try as much as possible not to twist, pull or push the piercing. It's difficult and most likely you won't succeed at first attempt, but you'll get better at this the next time. :) Once wrapped, take the piece of gauze and spiral it around the wrapped pads. Try not to make the bandaging too thick, as much as possible. Now for the painful part - take the condom out of the envelope and align its tip with the tip of the bandage. Unroll the condom along the penis. If it is a lubricated condom, you might want to pinch the bandage through the condom just at the end, and use the other hand to roll the condom downwards. Do this CAREFULLY in order not to pinch the piercing itself. ...And voila! One awkward little feeling later, you're clean and re-wrapped.

Once again, WASH YOUR HANDS TWICE WITH SOAP AND HOT WATER before doing all the procedure above. And, equally important - if you take a shower, DO NOT remove the condom. Leave it in place and clean your penis before or after the shower itself.

When the bleeding stops completely, you can use baby wipes to clean your penis. IMPORTANT - they have to be non-alcohol and non-scented wipes. Also, after you begin to feel better with your piercing (that's about a week later) and it won't hurt anymore, use baby soap to wash your genitals. Johnson & Johnson (non-scented as well) should do the trick.

While healing, do not use tight underwear or tight pants. However, those who usually don't like underwear should wear something for pure hygiene considerations. It's your own safety and health at stake here, so you might want to make a little effort for a couple of weeks.

I mentioned a small bottle of saline solution for eyecare in my list. I prepared a zip-loc bag with a pair of gloves, some toilet tissue, a condom, two pieces of gauze x 40 cm, 2 Q-Tips and 2 sterile pads which I am carrying with me when I go out. If a certain need to pee arises, you might want to find yourself prepared. I also take the small saline bottle along. Call it the carry-on cleaning kit and don't leave home without it for the first week.

I've read of people having sex the second or third day after the piercing was done. I didn't even try to masturbate (will wait until a full week passes). As for sex, I won't do that for 30 days. Do it at your own risk (bleeding might happen again) but remember to USE A CONDOM. Sex is an activity which involves body fluids exchange, and you certainly wouldn't want to stick your open wound into someone's vagina, mouth or anus.

These being said, enjoy your experience. I had some second thoughts about mine, but it turned out that I have no reason to worry whatsoever. So I'm enjoying it too.
