I've never really been the type of person to consider or think about any type of body modification, whether it be a tattoo or a piercing, until about a year ago. For some reason, I got the urge to explore it further, and the more I researched, the more excited I got at the prospect of having both. I spent a lot of time analyzing piercings of various types, using the internet and the BMEZine web site. Reading all the stories about Prince Alberts got me fascinated about the reasons for wanting one and the end results after getting one. Of all the different male body piercings available, the most popular male piercing always seemed to be the Prince Albert, and the thought of having something made from stainless steel swinging from the end of my penis really turned me on. The fact that it might also enhance the sexual experience, whether just masturbation and/or sexual intercourse, made it that much more appealing and exciting. And, as stated on most of the web sites, the Prince Albert is also the fastest healing male body piercing you can get. So I already had quite a few "benefits" to encourage me and drive my desire for a Prince Albert before I ever walked in the door of the studio.

I heard from friends and acquaintances that HTC had a great reputation in the Phoenix Arizona area for their piercing expertise and for carrying a good inventory of products, both the jewelry itself and aftercare products too. I made a trip to the studio to just 'browse' and check it out, but once there, I was comfortable with the setting and the answers to my questions about the studio and the staff. I had planned to leave and come back a week or so later, but they weren't too busy at that moment so I worked up the nerve to have it done right then and there. I must admit that I was a little nervous, but felt more comfortable with my decision based on everything I had read coupled with the friendliness of the people and the cleanliness at HTC.
I was taken to a private room and instructed to drop my pants and lay down on the table. Phish, my piercer, was able to help me relax a little by explaining the process both prior to and as it was being performed. I had anticipated varying degrees of pain and bleeding from the process based on the stories I had read on the internet from others who had gotten a Prince Albert and were kind enough to share their experiences. Anyway, once he actually got started, the entire process went very quickly and the amount of pain involved was a lot less than what I had thought, but it was still somewhat painful nonetheless. Phish told me that he did the actual piercing with a 12 gauge needle and then he stretched the opening by inserting a 10 gauge curved bar bell. This size difference, the smaller hole and the larger jewelry, was supposed to help keep any bleeding to a minimum and help it heal better too.
After the procedure was over, I was both relieved and amazed by the quickness of the pierce and the minimal pain and bleeding that was involved. I thought to myself "Why did I wait so long"! I was also concerned about the dreaded 'first urination' that is supposed to cause so much burning and discomfort. Shortly after I got home, I had to pee and sat down thinking I might spray the toilet and surrounding area, since I now had an additional hole in the bottom of my penis. There was a little pain but nothing worth worrying about. Also, the added benefit of a Prince Albert piercing and urinating, is that your urine is sterile, and actually helps to heal the piercing. That's why it's one of the fastest to heal of all body piercings. Also, it isn't bad when you urinate standing either. I thought I might have issues with spraying and such, but if you watch what you're doing it should be alright.
My personal words of advice to any guy out there who is thinking of getting a Prince Albert, "Go down to the studio and get one as quickly as you can"! I love the look of it and the feeling of it just being there, and especially when any kind of sexual activity is involved! Don't wait Gentlemen! It's definitely worth it! Since I've gotten mine, I have espoused the virtues of having one to anyone who would listen. I've had family members and friends go get theirs done as a result of my promoting it so passionately. I have also stretched mine from the initial 10 gauge to a 4 gauge, but don't think I'll go any larger than that. But, who knows, over time I just might decide to "go large", as they say at the fast food places!
