I first became aware of body piercings when my wife passed a magazine article to me in about 1986. It was a report on the piercings which were being carried out by a chap called Martin Spencer. It appeared that he would travel to your home and do whatever you wanted. All the piercees in the article were female and it didn't occur to me for several years that there were similar piercings for men.

The only UK piercer I could find was a Mr Sebastian, but he was too far from where I live, so I decided to improvise. My first attempt was an ampallang - I sharpened the end of a piece of stainless steel rod and pressed it through the end of my penis above the ureter. Once it was through, I slid it down to a loop I had made further along the rod and cut off the pointed end. I twisted the rod till the ends met and I had my first piercing!
My wife's reaction was extremely negative – "either that goes or I do" - so it had to come out. The hole healed and nothing more was said.
I was still taken by the idea of having a piercing, so I decided to have a PA. The plan was to wear a stud in the hole so it wasn't visible while it healed and to persuade my wife to allow me to keep it once it was established.
I duly prepared a similar sharpened rod and pushed it through the flesh into the ureter - using a ball-point pen body as a receiving tube. I had some plastic plugs like drawing-pins but with a blob on the end so I pressed one through the new piercing and it stayed in place.
The plan went as I hoped, and within days the hole had healed sufficiently that I could take out the plug whenever there was any danger of it being discovered. I gradually increased the thickness of the plugs – over a three year period, making them myself from stainless steel and plastic – and was I soon able to wear a 6mm thick bananabell.
I surprised my wife one night as she was getting into the bath by approaching her from behind with a ring installed – needless to say the anticipation had produced a good erection and initially she was happy to receive the attention from my fingers on her nipples and she gripped my penis between her legs – a game we'd often played before.
Unfortunately, before I could enter her from behind, one of her hands strayed down to play with my penis and she found the ring. She immediately froze and pulled away from me, asked what I was planning to do without her permission, and reminded me of the previous ultimatum.
I have tried to talk to my wife since then about having a piercing on many occasions, but she plainly doesn't like the idea and she won't have anything done - not even her ears.
She tolerates me being pierced as long as I don't wear anything when she can see it, but she has experimented with clip-on nipple jewellery on a number of occasions to please me.
I bought her a pair of 'spider-web' nipple shields a few years ago, hoping to persuade her to have her nipples pierced to keep them in place. When we tried them out, I was able to suck her nipples through the central 11mm holes, but once they were erect, her nipples became larger than the holes and the shields stayed on.
This led to some interesting foreplay, but we were disturbed by our son who arrived home early from work and we had no choice but to hurriedly put on our clothes and behave as though nothing unusual was going on. She couldn't remove the shields over the erect nipples and had to leave them on under her clothes.
After half an hour she complained about her nipples being painful, and taking the opportunity to go to the bathroom, we found that her nipples had turned purple from the restricted bloodflow. Everything we tried made the nipples bigger and harder till I suggested using a toothmug of hot water like an eyebath.
This relaxed the nipples and we were finally able to remove the shields. This accident left her sore for a week, and since then, she has refused to wear anything which doesn't have a quick-release mechanism, so the shields are sitting in a drawer.
I have gradually stretched my piercing over the years and I now wear a 15mm thick ring whenever I get the chance. The hole doesn't close up, so I can easily get the ring in whenever I want to wear it. This happens mostly when I'm away from home on business, but also sometimes when I'm at work and feeling horny.
I've no idea if it has had any effect on the marital relations side as I've never been allowed to try it, but I know I enjoy wearing it. I don't think the size of ring I wear nowadays would be practical in the bedroom, but I'll never find out one way or the other.
Many people have commented on the problems with urinating with a PA - I can only agree that it's a bit restricting having to sit down every time, but it's just as bad with the ring out - in fact the piercing flows better than the original hole...
Despite all that, I wouldn't be without it.
I just hope I can persuade my wife to try the nipple shields again one day.
