I had made a point of writing about my piercing experience if I got a PA done, and well, here it is.

BACKGROUND
I've been wanting a PA for around 8 years. I can't remember the exact time I first saw a PA piercing, but knew I wanted one ever since. Anyway, despite this fascination with the PA piercing (seems to be a good marriage of form and function - they look good, and look like they would enhance the feeling there quite a bit). The downside? They looked incredibly painful to get, and as such, I kept finding excuses to avoid getting it done.
Anyway, the years passed, until last year. I decided, whilst at university I was going to finally get my PA, after reading many reports (on here and asking people of their experiences), but upon getting into town, and talking to the local piercers (at this stage I was a piercing virgin), I chickened out, and got a Lip Piercing instead (yes, this opened the gateway to body piercing for me, even though I was fascinated by it, now have had 8 piercings including this one!).
THE SCENE
I went to Urban Piercings in Reading (I've had most of my piercings done here - I like the studio, highly recommended), about a month ago. The studio was very quiet - no-one in which was slightly disappointing - I was hoping it to be busy... Anyway, Adam was to do the piercing. My urethra is quite far forward (i'll come to this a bit later), and it wasn't clear whether (on a previous inspection at an earlier date) i'd be able to have one. Anyway, it was decided it would be possible, so on to the piercing itself, (which, whilst waiting, I was rather panicking - wondering what I was doing).
THE PIERCING
Anyway, I was told to lie on the bed thingy, whilst the equipment was prepared. He didn't use a receiving tube, but rather a cannulated needle (this is a good thing, I have a fairly narrow urethra), which was 10 gauge, or 2.4 mm. Anyway, the cannulated needle was positioned (this kinda tickled), until the firing-position was determined. The usual breathing exercises follow until...
PAIN
..well it was rather an odd experience (he used no anaesthetic or numbing spray). The pain started and ascended gradually for about 2 - 3 seconds, then steeply subsided. The first second or so was really easy, but the remaining felt like a moderate burning sensation. I'm not going to say it didn't hurt, it did, but really not very much - totally bearable, and surprising really. It was about 4/10 for pain (i've a reasonable pain threshold, but not a great fan of feeling pain), probably equivalent to glancing your arm with a lit cigarette (i.e. not properly burning it).
He then fitted the jewellery, which was a 14 mm internal diameter Captive Ball Ring, and gave me some material to pad around the piercing. Oddly, there was barely a drop of blood, and I don't think the piercing has bled since.
AFTERWARDS
1. Urination
The first few times hurt, I'm not going to lie. Similar to having a Urinary Tract Infection, but I think this is in part due to me not drinking anywhere near enough water. This subsides quite quickly though and is not really a problem after 2-3 days.
2. Healing
I followed a twice daily salt soak regime for about 3 weeks, and this has now been stepped down to once daily. Its healing well. There was minor discomfort for about the first 2 or so weeks, but this is fine now. It can feel a bit odd when I wake up in the morning, and its twisted during sleep.
3. Other comments
I've not noticed a significant spraying with urination, though it does occur. It has increased sensitivity a bit, but the real difference comes in (can I say it on here?) shooting at the point of orgasm, which is OMG intense (a good 100% or so more intense than before). Only issue is that the placement is quite shallow, a ring is cumbersome, I'm thinking of changing to a bananabell soon.
THE FUTURE
I'm hoping to upgrade to an Apadravya at some point, but think i'll probably get a Frenum done next as this looks much easier.
CLOSING COMMENTS
If your thinking about getting this done, go for it. I found that the hardest step involved with this piercing is purely psychological. Yes, it will hurt for a few seconds, but its very tolerable (I know I've felt more severe pain on hundreds of occasions). I love it, just need to find a nice man to road test it with. I have absolutely no regrets, bar one...
..why the hell did I wait 8 years to get it done?
