I have wanted to do body mods for more than 10 years. After reading about a PA I thought about it, studied it, thought about it some more then finally decided to get one. My biggest problem at the time was that no one around my home did anything like it. The only options I had at the time was to get my ears pierced at the mall. After a long search I finally decided to do it myself. I have more than enough common knowledge about medical procedures because I was a nursing student.

I studied the anatomy of the area I wanted to pierce, right behind the Glans Penis. I must have looked and studied for 2 weeks before I figured on placement and gage of the jewelry. My next step was to look to see what was available in jewelry and piercing supplies. Again, I had very little luck in finding both the jewelry I wanted or the needles to do the job with.

I finally settled on doing the piercing with a sterile scalpel. I had gotten one from the hospital while doing rounds in my clinicals (I can't remember how it got there, I just remember I had one in my pocket when I got home). I think a Dr. had set it up to remove stitches or something. I remember not needing it and I was going to put it in the sharps box but got busy and forgot.

Anyway, I was at home and all undressed, scrubbed clean with antibacterial soap and swabbed up with Iodine. I had decided to use a thick medical grade hose to act as a receiving tube. My thought was to cut into the tube on one side then open the incision enough with the scalpel to insert the jewelry. The initial incision went slow because I had no UVLA cream. Nothing to numb the area, just a lot of nerve. Everything went well until the urethra. Cutting through that made a popping feeling. That bit did hurt but the hole had been made. Now, with a slight flick of the scalpel I was all set. There was some bleeding but nothing untoward. I put the only jewelry I could find at the time, a stainless steel CBR that was 10 gage.

After cleaning the blood up and washing it again I looked at it to admire it. It looked great! I wanted to keep grabbing it but that just made it bleed more. I again removed the blood and wrapped it in gauze. The next 3 days I had some spotting when I slept but it was nothing I couldn't handle. I just kept washing it regularly and looked for signs of inflammation and infection. After a week it was healing nicely with no infection and no inflammation. I soaked it every day in a salt bath. I changed the dressing 3 times a day whether or not blood was present. Peeing was a challenge the first few days but it didn't burn at all like I would expect.

All in all I would say it was a great success. I had no problems with it from beginning to end. Now I have it stretched to a 2 gage and have a seamless ring in it. From that I have a 4 gage seamless ring going through the 2 gage. I have found it to be great fun during sex. It feels so wild having it in. I have made 4-5 wands for it too. Why not, I have a metal lathe. I order 316LVM stainless for the wands and cut them down and shape them to what I want. I have thought about getting another PA to the other side so that I could have 2 rings interlocking in my urethra. I have still got a lot of studying to do since I am afraid of migration with the two so close together.

As for people who want one of these piercings I would say to have someone with some experience with doing them set you up. It's not as easy as just sitting down with a knife and carving. You want someone who knows what they are doing and spend some attention to detail. There is a lot of info on it on the Internet but having some medical knowledge about the area is most important. If done properly you will have a very nice piercing (and if you want, you can brag about it too but I would be careful of that). Finally I would suggest that you make sure it's what you really want before you do it. It's an incredibly low maintenance piercing but it can be painful if you bump it too much. I wouldn't recommend any gage higher than a 10 to start. any higher like 12 or 14 and you could have tearing problems. That is not an experience I want to have!
