I had been thinking about getting a PA piercing for awhile. I've never been pierced before, and my boyfriend and I had discussed getting our nipples pierced together, but I wasn't sure if it would happen or not. We also discussed my getting a PA and he was all for it, but passed on the thought of him getting one as well.

On a Monday, I was at work and decided that it was now or never and I was through waiting to get my PA, so I called The Piercer and scheduled an appointment for after work that day. All day I watched the clock with nervous anticipation for what would come later that day. Five o'clock came and off I went from Albany across the river to East Greenbush.

The studio was in the back of a house and I parked and nervously walked in. The Piercer, Bob, was extremely friendly on the phone and was also in person. His studio was small; display case with different jewelry, aftercare products, and one private room where he did his work. Bob did work by appointments only, so I liked the idea of being the only one there and not having a bunch of people hanging around the studio. We talked for a few minutes, filled out the necessary paperwork and then went into the room. The piercing room was set up much like a doctor's office with an examining table in the center and counters and cupboards around. He told me to talk off my shoes and pants, leave them on a chair near-by and then he showed me various types of jewelry and told me about custom pieces he had been working on. I asked about the level of pain (since everything I read here on BME made it seem like a nearly pain-free experience) and he assured me it was not painful at all. I asked him to liken it to getting a tattoo. I have one on my leg and I handled that for about an hour and a half with no problem. He said it would be less pain and much quicker than the tattoo.

After a few more minutes chatting about pain and tattoos, he had be lower my boxers and lay on the table. As I did so a huge storm came though and shook the building with wind and thunder, which somehow calmed me a little. While lying there, exposed, he talked me though the procedure and was extremely thorough about the details. Bob uses a topical Lydocaine ointment for the PA and only for this piercing. He put the ointment on a Q-tip and said he would be inserting it into the urethra to numb the inside of the penis. He said there might be some burning and this would be the most uncomfortable part. He was right. He inserted the Q-tip about an inch and half and worked it up and down to numb the area. It felt more like he inserted it a foot deep, and as he worked it in, it stung quite a bit. However, this lasted less than 10 seconds, and any discomfort was then gone. He left the Q-tip in the urethra for the Lydocaine to take effect. While we waited, Bob used a caliper to measure the placement of the ring and we chatted about jobs, and some of his personal piercing experiences; I generally became very at ease, and didn't really mind the thought of being pieced in the dick in a few minutes.

Once I was nice and numb he removed the Q-tip, and showed me the receiving tube that would be catching the 10ga needle that he would be using. Then it was time. He inserted the receiving tube and I did not feel a thing. I didn't even know it was in at all. He told me he was ready to pierce, and to focus on a "No Whining Allowed" sign on the ceiling and breathe in and out deeply. During one of my deep breaths he pushed the needle though. I felt an extremely quick pinch and rush of heat though my body. There really was minimal pain. He followed the needle with a 10ga, 5/8" dia CBR. He told me I was a bleeder, but that was normal, and he wrapped a piece of gauze around my cock and held it in place with a small rubber band. I laid there for a few minutes to relax, and then got up, got dressed, and we discussed after care. I was to leave the bandage on until I had to piss, and then just rinse with warm water after I did so. I was told to wash it twice a day with an antibacterial soap he had given me, and do twice daily salt-soaks for the first month, then once daily for the next few weeks after that. It all seemed like it was way too easy. I tipped Bob, thanked him and headed home.

When I got out of the car at home I was rather sore. I headed straight to my couch and just chilled there for the rest of the day. I was dying to see my piercing, but wasn't going to mess with it until I had too; too important reel estate to mess with. Later that night I had to take my first piss, and when I removed the bandage I could not believe the amount of blood there was. The bandage was soaked though. I urinated without a problem though, and there was absolutely no pain or burning. I gave it a quick rinse and bandaged it back up since it was still bleeding. A few hours after that I went to take a shower and clean it for the first time- once again, there was a ton of blood. The whole time I was in the shower I was heavily dripping blood, so I quickly washed up, re-bandaged and headed to bed.

During the night I woke up and decided to take a piss and look at how things were doing down there. Once again, it was really heavily bleeding, and now I was getting nervous. I did my biz, rinsed and bandaged and tried to sleep, which didn't go so well. In the morning, I slowly stood up and seemed alright. A few minutes after however, I feel as though I was pissing my pants, but it was even more blood. This time it soaked though the bandage, my boxers and a pair of shorts. Now nervous was an understatement. I got in the shower and just let the water run over me. After about 20 minutes, the bleeding just about stopped. I slowly got out and dried off and bandaged. I decided to take the day off from work and just play it safe. Throughout the day there was minimal bleeding and not really any pain. By that night, the heavy bleeding had stopped, and from then on out, there was only minor spotting. The next day I headed to work and walked like a cripple all day since the piercing rubbing up against my pants was rather uncomfortable; never painful, but just like an irritating pinching all day.

It's been a week now and I LOVE my PA. It has been healing nicely, and the bruising and swelling is 99% gone. I faithfully clean it twice a day and soak it in salt water. There is no pain, and there is no issue with wearing pants any longer. I'm going to wait to take it for a test drive as I don't want to reverse and of the healing; I can wait a little longer.

I'm thrilled I got the piercing. My suggestion is to get this done when you have a couple of days to take it easy. Since everyone reacts differently it seems, you may be fine afterwards, or like myself, bleed for 24 hours. Either way, I suggest the piercing and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
