For years now I have fantasized about getting a PA. Semi serious, as my better half has never been to thrilled with the idea, but ever since I got my nipples pierced 10 yrs ago it's been on my mind.

I came to Pure Body Arts (http://www.caitiebezede.com/PBA/) to talk to Brian about suspensions - he is involved with rites of passage (ariteofpassage.org) and I'm very interested in doing a suspension. So we talked about that for a while, and once we were done - inspired by Brian and the look and feel of the shop - I thought to myself: why not get a PA today?

The topic moved to the PA, and all my questions were answered extensively and professionally, by a calm and down to earth Brian - which pretty much made me decide to go ahead. My main concerns were bleeding while at work, after care, how visible the piercing would be if I were to remove the jewelry, and if I could reinsert jewelry at a later point. (not likely, sea salt soaks, not very and yes I could)

I still wasn't completely sure whether or not I should go ahead, on account of my wife, and was on my bike, so had to get home first anyway, to come back out on the subway (didn't think I would like biking with a fresh PA). On my way home though I decided that I did want it: 1/ My wife's away for another month, so enough time to heal (and she's not here to object) 2/ if she really doesn't like it, I can always take it out again...

So back home, I called Brian, and went back in.

When I got there, we settled on jewelry (8 gauge titanium captive bead), I filled out the release form, and waited for Brian to get ready, after which we went into the piercing room, which was well stocked and immaculately clean. I laid down, took down my pants and boxer and relaxed. Brian talked me through the whole procedure, as he was cleaning the whole area and marked the entrance. Once that was done, he asked if I was ready to begin, and upon my confirmation went to work.

I can't say that I wasn't feeling a little curious at that point. The anticipation of getting the piercing and having unknown things done to my penis combined did give me some butterflies. The entering of the receiving tube was not very pleasant, but at the same time quite an experience. Once the tube was in place Brian took the needle, and still talking the procedure trough, lined it up. With the tube and needle in place, he once more asked if I was ready, then told me to take a deep breath, and upon the exhale pushed through.

The moment the needle went through, I broke out in sweat all over my body, and sort of felt my limbs disconnecting. It was painful, but as soon as the needle was through, a comfortable warmth settled in. Brian pierced me with a 10 gauge needle for the 8 gauge ring to minimize bleeding, and so had to run a taper through. This was a little painful again, and once more a lightness radiated out through my limbs. The jewelry followed, and was closed - and again a peaceful warmth settled in my nether region.

There was zero bleeding, and so we just settled for some gauze and that was that. I was a little giddy, so after we wrapped up we talked some more, and then it was back to the subway. That was interesting. As long as I didn't walk I was fine, but as soon as I would, the friction would immediately give me an erection. Since I had to get to the subway, I had no choice but to grin and bear it (and the multiplication tables of 3 helped out to).

When I got home, I undressed. There was some bleeding but not much. I have been walking around naked to give the piercing space, managed to pee (not nearly as bad as I thought it would be - just a slight stinging) and had my first sea salt soak, and all is well.

I am very happy so far: I love how it looks, and am very glad I had the experience. Even if I end up having to take it out 5 weeks from now, it was totally worth it (but am hoping that when faced with a fait accompli, my wife will decide it isn't all that bad...).

Brian was great, and anyone thinking of getting pierced should check him out. Pure Body Arts is a full service studio: in addition to piercings, Brian does scarifications too (he has his own portfolio at BME under scarifications) and Brett, Joy and Monica tattoo. Go visit.
