We headed straight to the leather market as soon as we arrived on Friday night to make an appointment at Palm Springs Piercing Company. I wanted to get an appointment for Monday (Memorial Day) so I could just get it and go home. Apparently, I wasn't the only one who thought of that and ended up having to get it done early Sunday afternoon.
I was given a time and room number at the host hotel and showed up there excited and nervous. I don't know about the rest of you, but getting something sharp stuck through your penis tends to make a guy a bit nervous. But I had seen lots of pictures of guys with PA's and if they could do it, so could I. I love the way they look and couldn't wait to get one myself.
David from Palm Springs Piercing was the best! A really nice guy and everything was very professional. The actual piercing was a breeze. I felt very little pain. Inserting the receiving tube was just slightly uncomfortable and I didn't even know when the actually piercing was done. David wrapped me up with some tissue and turned his glove inside out around my penis to hold the tissue in place. He gave me my instructions and sea salt, and I was on my way.
Sunday evening is when the IML contest takes place, and this year it was being held out at the end of Navy Pier in the ballroom. After the piercing I joined some friends and had a couple drinks. We decided to take a cab out to Navy Pier and walk down the pier and grab a bite to eat before the contest.
I'm feeling just fine at this stage of the game and my new PA doesn't hurt in the least. My friends and I are standing in line at a fast food place when I feel something on my leg. I look down and it's fresh blood. I make a comment that I need to use the bathroom and go try and find one. So I'm walking around, trying to find a bathroom, and the blood really starts running down my legs. (I am also trying to look as casual as possible during this.) I locate a bathroom, with a line of course, and wait to get in. Of course, once in the bathroom, I have to wait in another line for a stall. I finally get in there, drop the pants, pull open my underwear and gasp. The rubber glove is full of blood and I'm still bleeding. I stuff about half the roll of toilet paper in my shorts and head back out to the friends. I explain my problem and get one of them to go back to the bathroom with me since I needed some help. Another friend suggested that a Kotex might come in handy. So they set off in search of those.
We meet up and eventually found a relatively quiet bathroom and armed with a box of Kotex we un-wrap my dick. Holy Moly...I had bled quite a bit and it was still steaming out of me like I was peeing blood. We wrap my "member" in a Kotex and lay two other Kotex on each side and slid my blood soaked shorts up around this. (Thankfully, I was wearing black jeans!) We then set out for the contest. (God knows what the next person in that stall thought. We cleaned up as best we could, but...)
About half way through the contest, I start to feel not so well. I was getting a little light headed and things down below were starting to get soggy. Thankfully my friends figured out that something was wrong, got me some orange juice, and we sought out another bathroom.
I had completely soaked all three Kotex and was still bleeding. So, we repeat the wrap and stuff technique, except this time my friends had found a woman who had a pad with "wings" to add to the combination. I am now a firm believer in the "wings" pad. They should ask me to do a commercial for them. It helped greatly in containing my "heavy flow." We finished watching the contest and headed home.
By the time we got home, I had soaked all the Kotex again, but the bleeding had stopped. I was feeling better by then too. A nice hot shower helped tremendously.
Now, 2 months later, I love my PA. It never hurt, and after that first day, it never bled again. I knew that a PA piercing could bleed quite a bit, but I was an exceptionally good bleeder. I had a recent rotator cuff injury and had been taking a lot of aspirin...a blood thinner. That would be something to keep in mind if considering getting a PA. I also wouldn't recommend walking down a long pier immediately after getting one either.
