This story is about getting my Prince Albert piercing, but I think a little bit of back-story is necessary.

When I was in the third grade (about 9) I got my left ear pierced with a piercing gun at one of those stands in the mall. Over the next few years I struggled with infection and irritation, constantly trying to find a better metal or something that would allow me to keep the ring because when you're a little kid becoming somehow less cool is just not an option. After a few years I gave up and took it out, never to put anything back in. Since that time I grew indifferent to body piercing but became interested in tattoos and found bmezine. I had no mods of any sort so I couldn't join but I always looked at the updates. Looking around the site, one is bound to see a few pierced dicks and clearly I was no exception. I thought they were really interesting and toyed with the idea of getting one for a month or two. I was going camping with some friends and needed to pass right by the nearest piercing shop to get where we were going so I sort of just decided to do it.
I was pretty nervous about the whole procedure so it helped a lot to know that I would be with friends afterwards. I talked to a guy at the desk named Jonah and he informed me about jewelry and such. I showed him my ID, filled out some paperwork, and was told to wait 15 minutes for sterilization. 15 minutes of agony! It didn't help a lot to happen upon pictures of bloody genitals in the work portfolio dealy I was reading as I waited or the fact that my friends couldn't stop talking about the blood and general grossness of it. When I was called in to the piercing room my stomach sort of dropped, but I was pretty reassured when I saw that the piercing room looked like that of a doctor. I was told to drop my pants and hop up on a table, again belonging in a doctor's office, and we would begin. Now, I had read tons of experience stories on here about how quick and generally painless (as far as piercings go) prince alberts were so my brain quickly filled with tons of other stuff to be worried about, mostly that I hadn't eaten enough beforehand and might pass out.
It was at this point that I asked exactly what the procedure would entail and I was told in detail as Jonah got some stuff together in front of a big mirror. He inserted the receiving tube first, which was probably the most uncomfortable part of the whole thing, but bearable. It felt kind of like peeing after getting soap in your urethra, stinging a little. He marked the desired location with an ink dipped toothpick and told me to take a deep breath and he would pierce when I breathed out. On my exhale he stuck the needle through and followed it closely with a 12ga captive bead ring. My eyes had been closed since the point of piercing and when I opened them I saw my little boy in the mirror with not a drop of blood and the ring being clamped down into place. I was slightly embarrassed as my little boy was extra little due to my nerves.
I walked out with a rubber glove on and went camping for the next two nights. By the next day I had stopped bleeding entirely (and I was pierced at 8 o'clock the night before so I think that's pretty good) and threw away the glove. I've had it for three days now and it is generally painless but a bit tender. I haven't "tried it out" yet and probably won't for a while, but it is fun to feel it move every once in a while and remember that I have some new hardware down there. I'm not entirely sure about other piercings, but I think now that I've gotten the PA, I'm more confident about the possibility of tattoos (which as I said were my initial interest and reason for frequently viewing bmezine).
I know it says this on every Prince Albert experience story, but if you are reading one of these like I was and are interested in getting it done, go for it! It hurt way less than my ear did in third grade!
As a side note, I do not recommend sleeping with a rubber glove stuffed with toilet paper like I did. I think that is the reason I woke up a bit bloody and it is also no fun to have to remove pieces of toilet paper that are stuck to on.
