The fourth and final chapter of having a PA. Parts 1, 2 and 3 describe up to the 8 month mark in detail.

I have gone through periods of time with the piercing, when I was able to urinate while standing at a toilet without so much as a trickle or "second stream" of urine to worry about. That was a long while back. I'd be glad to even have a "second stream" to deal with now. Have you ever seen one of those Rain Bird sprinklers they use on sports fields? The ones that spray all over the damned place, then suddenly go back to the beginning... only to repeat and spray all over the place again... well that's what my penis does now. Makes a grand mess if I'm attempting to stand and urinate. Sitting is the only safe choice now.
On more than a few occasions I needed to use a urinal. Each instance thinking "this time will be different... this time I won't get my pant leg." Well, my pant legs generally fair well... but the poor people standing to either side of me don't seem overly pleased that I'm effectively marking their jeans as my territory.
The problem lies with the piercing of the PA stretching easily. The first 6 months or so, I had a 10ga CBR, of about 7/8" diameter. Not very heavy. Then moved to a 6ga, then on to a 4ga since. The added weight of the larger gauge CBR appears to stretch the hole quite quickly. The added space around the ring makes a grand exit for urine. I removed the ring on a few occasions thus far, to allow the hole to shrink back a bit. Leaving the ring out for 24 hours, it closes pretty well... makes for a very snug fit when replacing the ring. Give it an hour, and the hole is back to it's stretched size. I have been considering either removing the PA for an extended period and possibly starting over with the 10ga (does not sound so fun), or moving up to a 2ga. I realize the 2ga will be even heavier yet and will stretch further than the 4ga because of that additional weight, but it seems more fun than going without the PA for a while. Plus the larger size could prove fun elsewhere.
On to that "elsewhere." Since writing the previous experience about my PA, I have decided that it does indeed increase sensitivity during sexual intercourse. I have been told by my partner in crime (wait... unmarried sex isn't a crime...) that it is felt during some positions in quite a pleasing manner. As for me, personally, I have not had sex without a PA since getting it... and quite honestly don't remember what it was like before. I have masterbated with it (quite a lot, really) and without it (a few times), though, and can say that beyond a doubt the added sensations make a world of difference. The larger gauge CBR feels much better than the 10ga did, as well. The 10ga gave a bit of a "cheese cutter" effect to the urethra, while the 6 and 4 gauge rings provide a different sensation all together. A good sensation, I might add. At this point, perhaps the largest consideration of the "good sensation" part lies within my partner's enjoyment. I have moved past caring mostly about my own pleasure, to having a partner that I not only care about... but greatly care about her pleasure as well.
I am curious about moving up to a 2ga, and would like to switch from a CBR to a curved barbell for a couple reasons. One, the addition of a second ball on the ring could provide some added sensation to my partner... and second, the ease of removal. The CBR requires a tool to remove it. A curved barbell only needs the ball unscrewed, allowing it to be taken out easily and quickly. Removing it for cleaning, changing rings, or other reasons would be greatly simplified over the current "gotta find the expanding pliers and hope I don't hurt my penis with them." Hurting my penis is very, very far down on my "want to do" list. In fact, it is pretty much at the bottom of it. It would be nice to be able to quickly remove the ring for sexual reasons, as well. I'd imagine a 2ga curved barbell could get in the way at times.
Care now is little more than the usual good hygiene that takes place in the shower. I haven't done a sea salt soak in a good year or so. Soap and water, rinse it well... that's about it. Oh, sometimes it needs lotion or oil rubbed on it, vigorously and for a few minutes. It is best to do the entire area, so as to assure nothing is missed. The "area" can often be defined as "the entire pubic region", while "vigorously" can be defined as "alternating speeds and/or pressures."
As I have stated in earlier installments about the Prince Albert, it is by far my favorite piercing. A piercing that will most likely stay for quite some time. There's nothing wrong with an old man having shiny bits in his pants, is there?
