"*GASP* You're going to do WHAT?"

That was the response all of my friends had to the news that I was going to get my penis pierced. The past year has been very eventful for me in terms of piercing and tattooing, with getting my lip, nipples, lobes (twice), conch, tongue, and an industrial pierced, along with two tattoos, one on my right tricep and the other on my right calf. I have all the facial piercings I ever wanted, but there was something missing. I've been trying to figure out what it was for the past few months, and about three weeks ago it dawned on me... I wanted to get my penis pierced. The best part about it is that I swore to everyone I knew that I would never do something like that, ever, but times change.

After deciding on what I wanted to get done, I came to BME to check out some experiences for various kinds of male genital piercings, and it was a big tossup between a Prince Albert and an Apadravya. When I saw some pictures of both I decided that a PA was what I wanted, because I really liked how they looked. Despite making a decision on what I wanted it was going to have to wait for a time when I knew I wasn't going to see my girlfriend for a few weeks so I had plenty of time to heal up because after reading the experiences here I knew there was no way I was going to be able to do anything sexual for quite some time. It just so happened that we hit a rough spot and broke up a few weeks after I decided to get this done, so now it was time to take it a step further and find where I could get this done. My usual piercer doesn't do male genital piercings, so I had to find a shop that was both close and as good, or better than my usual shop.

I made some calls around to a few shops that are within an hour of my house, and settled on the Flesh Chamber in Appleton, WI. They had a sterling reputation and everything that I heard about them was positive, the piercers were excellent, and the place was cleaner than a hospital according to one person I talked to. Just to confirm that they were in the business of genital piercing, I gave them a call the week before I planned on going to get stuck. Sure enough, an hour's drive and a cool $100 and I'd have my latest and greatest mod to date. The week leading up to getting it done I told all my friends what I was planning to do, because I needed a ride up to the studio since I've been without a car for quite some time. My old roommate pledged to drive, so I was set.

And 4/23 rolled around... The time really couldn't have been worse as I had just hit it off with an amazing girl, but the plans had already been made and there was no way I was going to back down from this now. No matter what reason or excuse I gave my friends would have thought less of me for not going through with it. All day I waited for Pat to get off work so we could embark on the journey to Flesh Chamber... All day I waited, and paced, and got generally anxious and nervous. Finally, he called me and told me he was on his way over, and all that anxiety and nervousness went away. Once we arrived at Flesh Chamber about an hour later, I couldn't believe it. The place was cleaner than anything I'd ever set foot in before. The place smelled like a sterile OR, it was that clean. I filled out the requisite release form and handed them my ID.

A few long minutes of prep went by, then I went back to one of the piercing rooms, and I was amazed at the cleanliness of the place, immaculate. Nothing out of place, everything cleaner than most doctors offices I've been to. The piercer explained a few things to me about the procedure and then I took my penis out, he cleaned and marked it up, then came the receiving tube. I was expecting to feel the most excruciating pain ever, after reading some of the experiences, but I was surprised to feel a little discomfort, but nothing out of the ordinary. Next, he had me take three deep breaths, and he pierced on the third exhale. Split seconds later, the jewelry was in and I was taking deep calming breaths. "Are you feeling alright?" He asked. I replied that I was fine, and that I couldn't believe that I had a 12 ga ¾" piece of jewelry in my penis. After a few drops of blood he gave me aftercare instructions and sent me on my way. I paid and left him a generous tip for a job well done.

My buddies that came along were surprised how quickly it all went down and how effortlessly I was walking, and they were instantly curious about how I felt. Great, I responded, with all the endorphins and adrenaline rushing through my system it was pretty hard to say anything different. We went and walked down to one of my favorite stores so I could pickup a new pair of shades and while the walking wasn't the most comfortable thing ever, it definitely wasn't anywhere near what I expected. When we got home, I was surprised to see that I had bled so little. I expected a lot more. There was hardly any blood, I padded my boxers with some paper towel to make sure that it wouldn't get my jeans just in case, and then it was time for the first urination. Effortless is about as good as I can describe it. There was no stinging, no burning, nothing. But after that first one, I bled. My piercer told me that it would be normal to bleed for 12-24 hours afterwards, so I wasn't concerned at all.

Now, on day two, I must say, this is one of the best things I've ever done for myself, and if you are even just considering it, go out and get it done. You'll thank yourself, and I'm sure your partner will thank you as well. I can't wait to try it out, but being as cautious as I am about my piercings, it will be some time.
