Here's the way it happened...

I had read about it on BME, and I liked the way it looked. The experiences I had read said it was a fast healing piercing, and it felt good once it was healed. I had only one problem; I did not have the money to go to a shop to get it done. I sat around thinking about it for a good, long time, not having the aptitude or the courage to do it myself.
One night before I went to bed, I was looking at a 14-gauge captive bead ring I had had for quite some time. Seemingly with out thinking I went and found a needle that was about 14g, and sat looking at both articles.
I closed my door and sat on the bed with my pants off I looked at my penis, which seemed to shrivel up and hide from what I was considering to do.
I went into the bathroom and washed my cock, still not sure if I would be able to go through with piercing it. I went back to my room and sat back on the bed.
I picked up the needle and felt the point on it, quite sharp, but not sharp enough. I sharpened it with a nail file until I was satisfied.
I went back to the bed and laid back. I put the end of the needle into my urethra, expecting it to hurt, but to my great surprise, it actually felt kind of good. My confidence grew a little. I poked around inside for a second, testing the pain. Not bad. I decided I could do it. I positioned the needle directly behind the glands, and to one side of the frenum flap.
Now came the moment of truth! I steadied my breathing, telling myself that I COULD do this, and I WOULD do this. I gritted my teeth, and pushed the needle lightly against my urethra while feeling on the outside to make sure it was in the right place. It was. I closed my eyes, and pushed harder. I felt a pinch, then, when I opened my eyes, the needle was through. I sat shocked for a moment, looking at it like an idiot.
'Oh my GOD! I just pierced my dick!' I thought. 'And it did not hurt at all!' I was amazed at how easy and painless it had been.
I got the ring and popped of the bead, then pulled the needle out. The piercing began to bleed a little, (not nearly as much as I had thought it would). I tried inserting the ring through my urethra and into that hole first, but it would not come out the other side. I thought the piercing had closed already. I quickly put the ring on the outside hole, and pushed gently. It went through and came out the other side, no hitch. I breathed a huge sigh of relief as I put the bead on, then I went to sleep.
The next morning I put a 12 gauge captive bead ring in it. It looked better and felt better. I liked very much the way the piercing looked.
I washed it very carefully everyday, twice a day, and it healed very quickly. After three days there was no pain when I rotated the jewelry. It was fully healed in two weeks. My girlfriend loved it. She said it was one of the coolest things she had ever seen.
About four months later, I took the 12-gauge ring out. I wanted the piercing to close up, as I wanted to get an apadravya. It wouldn't close, however, and three weeks later I still had the hole. I decided to put something back in it because if I forgot to cover the hole, I would inadvertently soak my pants. It sucked! I decided to keep the Prince Albert, and forget the apadravya.
I did not have the 12g ring anymore. The only captive bead ring I had left was a 6g, a huge jump, especially since there had been nothing in the piercing for some time. I decided to stretch it. Bad idea. I stretched it, but it bled more than did the actual piercing. It also took longer to heal fully, nearly a month.
I am happy with this piercing now. It looks really cool, and feels great. Everyone to whom I have showed it liked it. I do not plan to stretch it anymore, but who knows what may happen in the future?

I do not recommend that anyone pierce themselves without first doing some research. The more info you gather, the better off you will be. Self-piercing can be a memorable experience, one that is worth practicing, but it can also be dangerous.
