I've been thinking about either a PA for some time now. Regardless of how many stories I'd read on here about the pain just lasting a split second, I was still in fear of that split second.

I finally decided to get it done and called around locally and decided on Obscurities. I felt most comfortable with talking with them on the phone, and that's where I got my tattoo done some years back. What few stories mentioned places in Dallas, most guys had their PA done at Obscurities and all had good experiences.

They have two staff members that pierce, Allen (the owner) and Tasha. While Allen only works Mondays and Tuesdays, I wanted to get my PA on Friday to have a few days to "recover" before going back to work. I gave it extra thought and decided that having a guy pierce me would just be more comfortable. After all, at least he would sympathize with what it's like :).

I had no anxiety or fear up until I arrived for the procedure. Unfortunately, Allen had to run an errand so I had to wait another 45 minutes for him to return. I went ahead and selected the size I wanted (8 gauge, ¾" CBR, which looked far too big). I was surprised that they provided the sea salt and antibiotic as part of the procedure so that I would not have to go get these later. I'm not the most patient person and having to wait 45 minutes past when my mind decided to get it done allowed my mind to go over the details again and again. I was getting nervous but kept going through what I remembered from the stories to keep me on track.

The whole procedure lasted about 2 minutes from start to finish. Allen led my partner and I to the back room which was very clean and sterile looking. All of the tools and the ring were there on a tray, still sealed and waiting for me. Allen asked if I had any questions and asked me to lower my shorts to my knees and lay on the procedure table. As others have mentioned, that's when it gets real for you! My partner sat on the chair so that he had a good viewpoint for the procedure. He saw a friend of his get a PA a few years ago and we had decided he would take pictures of the procedure for me since I would not likely remember much.

Again, as others have mentioned, the only real uncomfortable part was the insertion of the receiving tube. Just a little uncomfortable though. Once it was in, Allen said to take a few deep breaths and somewhere along the way inserted the needle. Ouch! I recall my right leg jerking a bit but the pain was instant and gone as quick as it happened. Allen then said he was inserting the ring and that it might be a little uncomfortable, but I hardly noticed it at all. That was it! It was in the 90's outside and since the room hadn't been used yet that day, the room was a little warm. I remember feeling a bit flushed when it was all over so Allen said to just lie there a few minutes and he went to get me some water.

When he returned I remembered him asking my partner if he was ok and how that struck me as odd since I was the one that got the needle. I then looked at him and realized he was on the verge of fainting. Looking back now, it's hard for me not to laugh at the irony of it. I get pierced and he's worse off. That's when I also realized that he was so caught up in the piercing that he forgot to take the pictures :(.

Up to this point there was not even a drop of blood but Allen went ahead and gave me a glove to use when sleeping that night. He warned me to wear old underwear to protect the sheets.

Once I got home I immediately drank two glasses of water to get a flushing over with. I think the thought of the burning sensation was bothering me more then the waiting to get pierced. When the time finally came to pee, it was going to be a big pee from all the water I was drinking. I sat down and when I could no longer hold back I tensed and started peeing. I have to say it was all very anticlimactic. There was no burning sensation or a drop of blood. Whew! The same has to be said of the next morning. There were not a single droplet of blood in my underwear, nor did any come out when I peed (again fearing there would be a burning sensation since I got off without one the day before).

It's been two weeks and I've had no discomfort, pain (other then the initial .5 second when the needle went through), blood or burning sensations. It feels totally healed. I've taken it for a test masturbation and that went without a hitch. I totally love the way it looks and look forward to taking it for a test drive and then with my partner in a week or so. I am already feeling impatient about moving up to the 6 or even 4 gauge and increasing the size to 7/8th or an inch.
