Well, I finally did it! After many months of wanting, questions, reading, and even experiencing other's PAs, I got my first piercing today. I am the very proud owner of an 8 gauge, 3/4" circular barbell. I need to tell all that I was every bit as leary as anyone could be of the pain and problems of getting my favorite body part pierced until I read up on and chatted with guys who already have a PA. Now I am living proof that getting a PA is as easy and painless as everyone said.

This final move began about a month ago when I selected Accent Tattoo as my studio of choice because of it's location to me and because of a prior experience I read about right here in BME. It started with me dropping in on Lauren, my piercer, to ask questions. I found her to be completely open and very comfortable to talk to. After ordering the jewelry, I left Accent Tattoo knowing I had made the right choice in getting a PA, the studio in which to do it, and the piercer.

Here's how it went. I arrived for my 2 PM appointment and only had to wait a few minutes before she was ready. Just as my heart was beginning to calm down Lauren called for me to come into the piercing room. It was very clean. Lauren then proceeded to show me everything she was going to use and how it was cleaned, making me feel once again I had made the right choices. After lowering my pants, she talked me through every move, maybe more than I wanted to hear because I just wanted to get this over without hearing all the details. Like many guys before me, I found the receiving tube was a bit uncomfortable but only as it was being inserted. Then she said breathe in slowly through my nose and out my mouth. On the exhale, there was this sharp but not intense pain, no more than a flu shot. Then as quickly as it hit me, is was over. She told me she was now going to insert my jewelry. By the time she told me what she was going to do she announced I now had a PA. I would rate the w orst of the experience as nothing more than some discomfort...not even painful. She wrapped me in some gauze, carefully covering the after care with me until I was out of questions, then encouraged me to call her if anything didn't seem right. By now, I was beginning to get my first hard on with my new PA, especially as we discussed future stretchings for a heavier PA.

After getting home, I checked things out and found a little more blood than what I was hoping to see so I cleaned up and applied new dressing. What I should have done was waited until I had to urinate because as soon as I re-wrapped, I had to go. Oh well, this gave me some practice in bandaging myself. By now my piercing was about 2 1/2 hours old. The bleeding had all but stopped.

Now for the first piss. I was expecting to yell ouch from everything I read about the first piss. Wow, no big deal. Neither this or any following pissing caused any stinging at all. As I'm writing this it's been about 7 hours now and I don't feel anything except the pure bliss of knowing I finally did it.

Bottom line is this...any of you guys out there who are waiting to get a PA because of procedural concerns, you're wasting your time. Mine is only about 7 hours old and already I love it. I would strongly suggest any guy interested in getting a PA, especially if you are like me and this is your first piercing, you go first to the stdio you select to check out their shop, the piercing room, and to meet your piercer. Make sure you feel comfortable with him or her. It was really important for me that Lauren was willing to take all the time I needed to become comfortable with the procedure and what I should expect. In this little talk we covered the PA size, the costs, and even what I should wear and eat the day of the piercing. This is when I learned that it is best to wear soft supporting underwear to support the bandaged 'package' and that I should wear easy fitting slacks to allow for some room without binding.

If you want to ask me questions, send them to my email address above.

If you are dreaming of getting a PA, just make the move. Choose a piercer and become the stud you dream of becoming. It really is that simple.
