Five years ago I surprised my wife with my first tattoo commemorating our 10th wedding anniversary. It was during the planning and execution stage that I became interested in body mods. Every year since, I've added to my tattoo collection and have pierced both lobes. My tattoo project this year is a little more involved with some design challenges and since I need my annual mod 'fix' sooner rather than later I started looking for another piercing.

Nips are out for now - wife wasn't interested for some reason; navel is too much a chick piercing so I moved 'below the belt'. Had seen a couple PAs at the gym so I checked out the pictures and experiences on BME and other sites. The more I read and looked the more I knew I had to have the piercing. Even had a momentary crisis when I realized I was getting aroused looking at pictures of dicks. Since my mods have to come out of the 'entertainment' budget I had to skip a couple hockey games and dinner out and after a month of deciding I wanted it I finally got it done yesterday.
Finding a studio was not an issue. Kevin at Ronin Tattoo Studio in Aurora, IL has done all my tattoo work. It's a small, very personable studio and I've never had anything but good experiences there. Anyway, rang them up yesterday to make sure they did below the belt and checked to see if I needed an appointment. Nervous as hell making the call for some reason so the conversation was brief – figured I'd ask any additional questions when I got there. Piercings are done on a first come first served basis so I added some boxer briefs under my dark cargos and prepared to head on down. Bleeding was my biggest concern with this piercing so I wanted to contain as much as possible and not freak the wife and daughter with blood all down the front of my pants when I got home. Caffeine free and full of water I drove the 5 minutes to the studio.
Met Josh at the front counter and told him what I was there for. Relaxed and confident he said c'mon back. I'm thinking... "Damn this is going fast" but didn't hesitate to follow him into the piercing room. As expected it was immaculate and appeared more like a doctors examine room. While I was filling out the requisite paperwork, he was setting everything up and explaining the procedure. Handed him my paperwork and he has me drop my pants and hop up on the table. Again he explains the procedure, the sterilization process, tells me what I can expect, makes his reference mark and asks me if I'm ready. I say let's do it.
First is the receiving tube, which he says will be the most uncomfortable part but necessary to prevent any unnecessary tissue damage in the urethra. He was right. Man did it sting. Seemed to take a lot longer and go a lot further than I thought would be necessary. Once that was set he had me take a deep breath and exhale slowly. As soon as I started the exhale – bang, the needle was through. Split second of serious pain but over before it really registered. He prepares me for the pressure of inserting the jewelry, 12 ga, 5/8" SS CBR, but I felt absolutely nothing at that point and it was in and we were done. He made me lay there a couple more minutes while he goes over cleaning again, makes sure I feel ok, then tells me I can take a look and be on my way. This piercing was even more impressive now that it was on me. The best part – no blood! He didn't think I would have a problem with bleeding so I tuck everything in my shorts and headed on home. As long-winde d as this narrative seems I was amazed that the entire process, including driving to the studio and back, took only 18 minutes.
So far so good. Just a few spots of blood early in the evening that was easily contained once the wife, having way too much fun, demonstrates proper sanitary pad placement. I can even pee standing up. Momentary panic when I wake up with a raging hard-on and know full well I've bled on everything. There was not a drop of blood and I marveled at how hard I was – hadn't felt that way since 8th grade when I could knock my math book off my lap by flexing my hard-on. Took a piss – slight stinging, admired my jewelry again and fell back to sleep planning when I was going to up the gauge.
Like everybody else says, if you've thought about this piercing then go get it. Worse thing for me are these damned underwear and pad – I'm a confirmed freeballer and will lose this stuff asap. Overall this piercing is aesthetically pleasing, physically amazing, remarkably easy to get and care for and to the ignorant you allow to see it you are a total, tough-assed stud.
