Finally had my PA done about 1 year ago. I had already had 5 tattoos, and of course ear piercings back in the 80's. My brother had gotten a PA and that got me thinking about having it done.

Well - I got to my favorite tattoo shop and they were closed. After the build up in my mind to have it done and then finding them closed I basically lost my nerve for the night. A few weeks later I drove the hour to the shop only to find them closed again. I figured the hell with it and decided to drive around and try to find another shop that did piercings. After another hour I finally found a place that was open. I went in, inquired about genital piercings and asked to be shown the shop and sterilization procedures. I talked to the owner's (a married couple - both in their mid 40's I would guess) and after listening to both of them decided I felt comfortable with them and the shop.
I picked out a 10 GA curved barbell - that was the largest they recommended I be pierced at. While everything was in the autoclave I was asked to go to the washroom and clean my penis - which I did. That is when I started wondering if I was a complete nut for wanting to have this done. If I hadn't already paid and signed the waiver I probably would have walked out. After a thorough washing I went into the piercing room and sat down on a barber's chair that had paper over it like they use in a doctor's office. I was asked to pull the "little guy" out and a piece of paper with a hole cut in it was placed on my lap with my penis sticking out through the hole. I have to admit I was so scared I have never seen my dick that small in my adult life. I chose not to watch the procedure at all, and when asked I told the piercer to not tell me when he was going to push the needle through. Not looking helped in my case - I was completely unprepared for the pain that ensued when the needl e was pushed through. I grit my teeth and didn't make a sound - I thought it was completely done then I felt the jewelry being pushed through. That hurt as much as the needle going through. The piercer patted me on the back for not calling him any names as he told me he was almost done, screwed the balls on the ends of the barbell and then asked me to take a look.
Much to my surprise there was almost no blood at all. Some discoloration from the sterilizing solutin he used but that was it. I was given a round piece of gauze and I wrapped it around my penis and VERY CAREFULLY zipped and buttoned my jeans. I shook hands with the couple, thanked them and walked outside and immedietely called my brother and told him I went through with it. The first words out of his mouth were "that hurt like hell, didn't it". This is coming from the person that had told me the pain wasn't that bad and only lasted for a brief second. Walking to my truck and getting in was very odd. I could definitely tell there was something extra in my pants. The hour long drive was a little painful (DO NOT wear even semi tight pants when you have this done) and the anticipation to get home was tremondous. As soon as I got home I immediately dropped my drawers and removed the gauze - which had stuck slightly due to the very samll amount of blood. I decided the best thing was to just go to sleep - I put on an old pair of underwear and went to bed.
I woke up a few times due to slight pain from rolling over. The next morning when I woke up I had to pee - this was going to be scary - I was expecting pain and possible burning from what I had read. To my surprize there was no pain or discomfort at all. A tiny amount of dried blood came out - only for the first 1-2 seconds - and that was it. No more bleeding and no discomfort while peeing at all. I did walk a little slowly the first 3 days and once ina while would move in such a way to cause some pain. Now, after having it for a year, I have to say I can't believe I didn't go through with it sooner.
I have been with 4 partners (female) sexually and they have all been very happy with it. 3 of them were scared and very tentative once they found out I had a PA before actually experiencing it. All kinds of crazy questions - mainly - what if it comes out while having sex and does a condom tear with it. If anyone is worried about either thing happening - don't. I still have a curved barbell - although I have stretched it myself to an 8 GA - I use a pair of needle nose pliers to tighten the balls and have never had any problem with them coming off. And as long as a condom is put on so that it is not pulled completely tight to the head there have been no tearing problems. For anyone looking through here trying to decide if they should do it or not - my advice is STOP WAITING and just go have it done. You will be pleased and so will your partner(s). And you will not believe how many women ask to see it once they find out you are pierced. Also, FYI, I am at an 8 GA curved barbell right now and I have never had an issue with standing up while peeing.
