Living in a pretty conservative family I had never given much thought about any body modifications. Then my older sister got a tattoo of a fairy on her back I was in love. When I was finally old enough and had the money I decided to get a tattoo. After I got the tattoo, I decided to look into getting piercing.

Plus I also want to become a doctor in the future and do not want any of my body modifications to hold me back. So I then started looking at genital piercing. I originally wanted an apadravyas, but since this was going to be my first piercing I decided to work myself up to that one. So, then I decided the PA was for me. I know I will probably get the apadravya later, but I wanted to go for the less severe piercing for my first experience.
I read many accounts here on BME, which were VERY helpful to me, and I researched the piercing heavily. I learned all about the procedure, the after care, and the types of jewelry that were recommended. I then talked to my girlfriend about it and some of my best friends, and let me tell you they were not thrilled about it. They thought I was crazy and just kept asking why I would want to do that? I just kept telling them it is not as bad as they think and I want one because it looks so damn cool. After about a couple of weeks of talking my girlfriend finally came around and said, "If you really want it then I am OK with it." With her being OK with me getting it I finally decided to get it.
I started looking for piercing studios around my area but didn't find anything that I liked or seemed good places. I then found one called Adornment Deluxe which looked perfect. It was very clean, well lighted, and an aquarium in the waiting area. They even had a book filled with pictures of the artists work. They all looked awesome and it gave me confidence in him. This place is strictly a piercing studio too which also influenced my decision to go there. They have one artist that does all of the piercing and only one piercing room. I started talking to the receptionist and she told me all about the piercing. We talked about types of gauges most guys get and the type of jewelry that she would recommend. I wanted a circular barbell, but she told that I should get a Captive Bead Ring(CBR) for the initial healing period and then change it later. I then decided to make an appointment and the next day at 6 o'clock it was getting done.
The next day I left to go get the piercing and ended up about 10 minutes late because Detroit traffic is AWESOME! But I got there in time and he was already set up and I filled out the paper work and decided to go with a 10 gauge steel CBR. I then went into the room and I was asked to place my everything below the waist on the chair and sit down on the chair. He went over the entire procedure with me, even though I already knew it. He cleaned my penis and made the marking and asked me if it was OK and I said it was perfect. After he had the spot he lubed up the tube and placed it in my penis. This was by far the WORST part of the piercing. He then said take a deep breath and exhale then it was over. There was very little pain. It was like getting a shot in the arm, but only lasts a fraction of a second. He then put the jewelry in and it was done. I looked at it and I was so happy. It looked awesome. He then wrapped my penis up in gauze and a glove and sent me o n my way.
It has now been a week and I could not be happier with it. There was very little bleeding over the next couple of days after the piercing. It was sore for about five days, but now it feels normal. Cleaning it two times a day and soaking it for two times a day is a little bit of a hassle, but if it keeps you from getting an infection in your penis, it is well worth it If you are thinking about getting one I would of coarse say do your homework. Make sure you know what you are getting into. And once you have done that go for it. It was not painful at all and it was very fast. It is not as bad as it may seem. Trust me.
