Like many of the guys who have posted PA experiences here, I've wanted one for a very long time, but took an equally long time to make it happen. The idea of a PA was something that immediately appealed to me when I first heard about them. I had been the first and only person in my social circle to wear earrings or have tattoos. My first ink was back before the wave of popularity ,and when I was looking to expand my piercing experience beyond my lobes, finding some one who knew anything about body piercing was difficult. I may be dating myself when I say this was before the Internet, so my first attempts to find information about piercings where difficult. I still have the Gauntlet catalog I mailed away for, and which was so useful in both informing me and shocking/amazing my friends. At that time getting a PA would have involved travel to NYC or the West Coast, and for various reasons it never happened.

Fast forward to the present, and I'm tired of waiting. I have 5 tattoos, some fairly large, and had pierced nipples for a while, though I gave them up when I could never get them fully healed. My mind kept returning to that PA I always wanted, and there just seemed to be one hurdle to getting it: my wife. She is a great person in so many ways, but tends to be conservative on some things, such as sex and human bodies; where as I don't have those hang ups. When discussing the idea of a pierced penis, she made the answer I expected: "it is your body, you can do what you want". Not exactly the ringing endorsement I was looking for, but it was approval enough. I hoped that all I had heard about the piercing making thing more pleasurable for both partners would help change her opinion in time.
Since I was off work for the Columbus Day holiday, that would be D Day, or PA Day. My city, which once had no piercing community to speak of, now has a section in the phone book and body jewelry for sale in most of the malls. I had no hesitation in choosing a place to go for my piercing. Peircology was the first studio to do business here, and has earned a great reputation. I had had several changes of nipple rings installed there, and knew it was my best and only choice for the PA.
I arrived just after the shop opened, took care of the paperwork and jewelry selection rather quickly. I had done my homework and knew what to expect. I choose 10 ga CBR, and after sitting in the waiting area just long enough to read through the aftercare pamphlet a few times, Ryan came out and said he was ready. He took me back to one of the rooms, which looked a lot like a doctor's office, and we chatted for a bit as he started to get ready. He remarked that I seemed pretty calm, and I let him know that I'd been planning this for a while. As if getting a needle shoved through your penis could be a snap decision!
Once I was up on the table, and my jeans pulled to my knees, thing went very smoothly and quickly. It almost seems to take longer to write it down that to have it actually happen. The odd part was not seeing it-Ryan asked me to lay back and concentrate on breathing regulalry. Ryan used a marker to indicate placement, the receiving tube was lubed up and eased into my penis and then wham-that sharp, brief but intense pain as the needle went home. Ryan was very calm and sort of narrated the whole thing, reminding me to relax and breathe as he got the ring settled in place and the ball closure put in. The actual insertion of the needle was painful for a split second, but I was surprised afterwards how free of pain or discomfort of any kind I was. I left Piercology with a rubber glove over my unit, to catch the blood. I had a few errands to take care of, so when I did arrive home and got a chance to really look, I was more frankly aghast at the amount of blood collecting in tha t glove. Over the next three days the bleeding stopped, and while I expected to be tender during the initial healing for the most part things where very pleasant. I didn't sleep much for the first two nights, since I sleep on by stomach and I was nervous of putting to much pressure on things. Night times did seem to be the worst, since I seemed to wake up when the usually nocturnal stiffy would cause some pinching.
Any of that discomfort is long gone now. I have had my PA for a month and I keep asking myself why I waited so long. I love the way it looks, am staring to experiment with the improved sensations, and even my wife has been supportive. I suspect once I can swap the CBR for a curved barbell, which will be more comfortable for her, she will be a confirmed PA fan.
