Exactly a week ago, Lance of Amillion Tatoos and Piercings in Austin finished my first piercing, a Prince Albert. Before I decided to get pierced, I spent a lot of time reading about the experiences of other people in that situation, but I couldn't find useful and practical hints for taking care of the piercing afterwards. Most of the people were excited in their reports that the actual process of piercing was over, but gave no reports what they did after they had left the piercing studio. Here comes my report how I tried to get along with my new decoration in the first week of its existence.

For the first hours, I didn't feel any pain and didn't face any other problems. I decided to leave the piercing alone and went to bed as usual. I had put on boxer shorts to prevent any uncomfortable feelings during that first night. When I got up the next morning I saw that the lower section of the shorts was soaked with blood. The rubber glove was also half blood-filled, and I was lucky that nothing of the blood had reached my bed sheets. What surprised me was not that there was blood at all - Lance had told me that it would bleed for the first three days -, but I never suspected to have so much blood coming from such a little stitch. What should you learn from my experience? For the first night, prepare everything for having a lot of blood coming out of your wound. Put a piece of plastic foil over your sheets. If you want to safe yourself from a lot of work cleaning your bed, wrap additional stuff like toilet paper or something else around the first layer of protection for your piercing.
After I had discovered that mess in my panties, I went to the bathroom and carefully removed the glove and the bandages. The piercing itself and the wound looked okay, but there was a lot of half-dried blood covering my lap. So I went on and took a shower, carefully preventing to touch my dick or the piercing itself. I did only wash the surrounding areas, but not the piercing or the jewelry itself. I discovered, that, to make things easier for you, you should shave your intimate hair before you get pierced. Otherwise you will have a lot of sticky blood in that hair, and some of the hair itself will end up in your wound. No hair around your dick will allow your skin to air-dry faster, because you really can't use a towel for the first days after the piercing.
Having cleaned everything, it was time to think about a new bandage for my dick. I decided to put some paper tissues around it. To prevent possible bleedings from reaching my pants, I put a small, tiny plastic bag over it and fixed everything with a rubber band. This way, I survived my first day with my new decoration. I had to put this bandage on and off every time when I went to the bathroom, but during the day no new bleedings occurred. Only some kind of liquid appeared. To be frank, urinating wasn't a problem at all. Although I was told and had read differently, there was no pain and no swellings that made the visit to the bathroom more difficult than usual. In the evening I showered again, repeated the procedure of putting a bandage over my dick, wrapped a lot of toilet paper around the whole thing and went to bed. What I had learned from that day was that I should have thought about possible ways of putting a bandage on the piercing earlier that the actual day. If you can, buy some sterile bandages instead of using other materials like paper tissues or toilet paper. The disadvantage of that material is the lacking sterilization and the fact that it will stick to your dick or to your jewelry once it is soaked with all kinds of liquids.
The second night was slightly better then the first one. But another problem literally raised during the early morning. Guys, you know that almost everybody of us has an erection in the morning before we go to the bathroom. But how do you handle that when you have a somewhat tight bandage to your dick? You are right, you will wake up because your dick starts to hurt and you will face more bleeding. Exactly this happened to me after the second night. Around 5 a.m. I went to the bathroom, fixed the problem, put a new bandage on and went back to bed. Later on, I took the usual shower and for the first time used the anti-bacterial soap that Lance had handed out to me. For the rest of the day, I was wearing my usual bandage and performed well every time I went to the bathroom.
Relief came with the third night. There was no bleeding anymore, and I hadn't tightened the bandage as hard as in the night before. During the day, I did not put on another plastic bag, and I spared it out for the fourth night. I continued cleaning the piercing twice a day with that special liquid soap, and I will do that at least for the next five weeks. You ask me about pain? Yes, there is some. But it is not caused by the piercing itself, but by the bandage sticking to the wound or to the jewelry. You will feel when the inside of your dick starts to heal and literally grips your jewelry. Walking feels sometimes very uncomfortable, but that depends on the position of your dick and the jewelry.
I will see how things develop during the next weeks. My daily procedures are more or less back to normal, and the fun of having a PA piercing is always worth the additional efforts. I hope this little report will make your recovery from a PA piercing easier.
