Here I am sitting now, still wondering that everything went so nice and smoothly. You ask how it comes that I decided for a Prince Albert piercing? Well, I was interested in piercings for a long time. Looking at the stories and pictures at BMEzine made me very curious to have a piercing of my own. Because of my job, all piercings that could be easily spotted by bosses, customers or other people were out of limits. What do you have left? Right, it could only be nipples or a very intimate piercing. I decided for the last one because I heard that nipple piercings for men are quite painful. Comparing all the pictures at BMEzine, the PA was the best-looking piercing. I have been a witness or better a support for a friend that has been pierced, and a already knew a little bit about the procedures. The prices for piercings in Germany and other circumstances made me wait for the right opportunity.

Having already made the decision to get pierced, I moved from a smaller town in Germany to Austin, Texas in July. Since than, I was looking for a good place to get pierced. Where do you start doing that in Austin? Right, on 6th Street. But I figured out that the piercing studios there are more something for college students that had just decided to have a piercing and want to have it done the same party night. I stayed away from these locations and shifted my interest to other studios outside of Downtown Austin. On my every-day drive to work, I pass by two studios, so I naturally stopped there one day and stepped inside. In one of these two locations, people were so busy that nobody turned to me to answer all my questions. I am sorry for the folks there, this was the best way to lose me as a customer. This way I ended up in A Million Tattoos and Piercings on Research Boulevard. Entering there at about 8 p.m., I was welcomed by Lance who turned out to be an experienced pierce r with quite a sense of humor. I asked questions for about an hour, including the right size for a PA and my worries about allergies. He recommended a Titanium ring, and I liked that idea. In fact, the PA is one of the oldest and easiest piercing for men, and Lance pointed out that there is nothing that could really go wrong while piercing your little friend. All this happened last Monday, and we agreed to meet on Wednesday again to get the job done.

Now, today is Wednesday and I just came back from A Million. I went there tonight around 8 p.m. I was early, but calm and quite happy with my decision. I had to wait a little bit and watched a couple getting their information about tattoos and piercings. When all the other tattoo and piercing artists that work at the place went on for dinner, Lance showed up. He checked my age by requesting my ID card, did all the paperwork with me and gladly accepted my payment. Finally, I decided for a 8 ga. Titanium ring. Lance took me inside the actual piercing room and showed me again what he was about to do. Then it was time for Lance his sterilize his instruments, the jewelry and his gloves. He did all that right before me eyes. I could follow each of his steps, and that made me feel comfortable because I was warned to watch the conditions in that the piercing would take place. After sterilizing the seat, Lance then made me lean back, made me drop my pants and sterilized my little fri end. We were talking a little bit – I guess, Lance just wanted to distract me and get my attention away from the procedures. The next unavoidable step was putting the receiving tube inside. This was probably the most uncomfortable moment of the whole procedure, but it went away fast when Lance actually made the piercing. There was a sharp, but very short pain, and it was over. Adjusting the jewelry took just a second, and I was off the table. After a lecture about aftercare, which I took very seriously, I left the shop. Lance had handed over all his phone numbers and his mail address just in case that I needed support during the weeks that will follow now. I guess that Lance counted another satisfied customer.

And now? Let's see, how it heals. But I still wonder why I haven't done this earlier. If you guys think about having this piercing yourself, just go ahead. There is a little bit of an uncomfortable feeling, but this is it. I hope then, if you follow the cleaning instructions, it will heal fast and I can actually start having fun with it one way or the other ...
