I remember the first time I saw a PA (a picture) and I thought "Why in the hell would ANYONE want to do that?" Despite my initial revulsion, I was intrigued. After a few years, and seeing several pics of PA's, I began to be more intrigued. I was in a chat room one night, and a guy was telling someone about his recent PA so I entered the conversation and asked a few questions.

He began telling me about the increased sensitivity, the small amount of pain that he experienced, etc. I think I was more interested in the increased sensitivity to be quite honest. He and someone else then referred me to this very website, and I proceeded to read every account listed here of PA's done.

To my suprise, I saw that nearly all of them were pretty positive, and reported a small amount of pain. Well, it made me start thinking of human physiology and neurology. Think about it, if we had an abundance of pain receptors on our penis, how much fun would sex be after all? It made sense that most of the receptors on our penises would be pressure receptors and stretch receptors. So how much pain could there really be?

I started giving it serious consideration, and went to a piercing/tattoo establishment well known in Denver. I found the staff to be knowledgeable, but was a little concerned about the lack of cleanliness evident when I visited. So off to another place where I had my ear pierced about a year ago. Twisted Sol, at 14th and Ogden in Denver. They are consistently spotlessly clean (like a Dr's office!) and very knowledgeable, and very enthusiastic about using sterile techniques.

Saturday, June 8, I went in, told them what I wanted, and waited for my piercer to arrive. While I was waiting, they handed me a brochure about cleaning, the do's and don'ts about the piercing I was about to receive, and a nice sized packet of sea salt for cleaning. Alicia showed up a few minutes later. A very personable and professional young lady. I had a few initial misgivings about taking off my pants and laying down on the table, which I suppose is natural. Men don't like to be in such a vulnerable position. However, Alicia was very professional, and very GENTLE I may add! She explained everything on every step of the way, told me there would be no surprises.

She first cleaned the area, then tested my urethra for sensitivity with the receiving tube. It was a little sensitive, so she put in some gel to numb it a bit. Then in came the tube, she told me to take two deep breaths, let them out slowly and on the second exhalation would come the needle. So far so good. One breath, out, second breath, out and here it comes. A slight sensation of pinching, over just like that. In comes the ring, hardly noticed that at all. I have a PA! A very nice 10ga CBR.

I had a small amount of bleeding right after the piercing. Alicia cleaned it up and applied some GENTLE pressure and the bleeding stopped quickly. She applied some dressings, and inverted a clean rubber glove over my penis, and off I went home.

The ride home was....interesting. I was experiencing sensations that I had NEVER felt, not pain, definitely pleasurable. Like a low grade orgasm, for lack of better descriptors. At any rate, I was wearing a nice grin on my face all the way home and the rest of the evening. Arriving at home, I found that I had some more bleeding, but nothing serious at all.

I might add that I had to work the next day, so I was concerned that it would be a problem. It turned out to not be a problem at all. My first urination was cause for concern as well, but this turned out to not be a problem at all either.

Sunday, June 9 at work went well. No pain, just a sensation of something there, difficult to describe. I cleaned frequently, kept clean dressings on during the day.

Monday, June 10: A little discomfort today, evidence of the healing process at work. A small amount of bruising, but nothing to be concerned about. I suppose my medical background helped with this. My suggestion is not to be alarmed by the small stuff. I pretty much hung out at home today, and rested, took care of my piercing. I let it have some air exposure, which I think helped a lot.

Tuesday, June 11: What a difference a day makes! The morning dawned with a raging erection, and WOW! What a feeling that was. Still not ready to masturbate just yet, but really looking forward to that! I think I may have to get a bigger ring. I explained to Alicia that I was a grower, but didn't elaborate, so she went with a bigger ring, but I think I need a slightly bigger one. No real discomfort as such, but I can feel the pulling when erect. However, I want to give it a few more days of healing to see if this is really an issue or not. Frankly, it fits nice and close when erect, and I like this. I feel like I am home free at this point in terms of healing and confort levels.

Words of warning: Follow your aftercare guidelines religiously! I have done this, will continue to do this for several days yet, and I have ZERO signs of infection. Urination is a good thing. I had a little discomfort with this on day 2, but as day 3 dawns, not a problem at all. Obtain and USE and CHANGE your dressings. 4 x 4's or 2 x 2's. Clean underwear guys!

All in all, this has been a suprising and very pleasant experience. Given the chance to do it again, I definitely would. Of course, I have to mention again, Twisted Sol in Denver, CO. They have two piercers, but my deal was with Alicia. She is great and I highly recommend her. I am sure the other guy is good too. This place has always impressed me, and I hope you all check them out at least. If you are thinking about a PA, JUST DO IT! It is great!
