First of all I have to admit that I paid $100 Canadian to have this hole placed in my most beloved of all places...that works out to about $9.95 US for anyone wondering, so it wasn't that bad. Let me start off by saying that I'm 21 years old and not at all the kind of guy you would expect to be putting holes in his body...at least I wasn't a year ago. I have 3 piercings right now. A 16ga CBR in my upper ear, I would like to get it punched to 8ga for a stainless steel plug. My 14ga circular barbell, which was the best facial piercing that I could have chosen. And now I have a brand spanking new PA. My piercer has just told me about a fairly new procedure (or at least uncommon) called stapling which is what I'm looking into next.

A word of caution for anyone getting their first piercing. Piercing are HIGHLY ADDICTIVE! If you have one you will want another. If its small you will want it to be bigger. This is not something you can try to escape. It always starts with "Just one..you know, for fun!" And then it quickly becomes something more! But if your smart and careful about the decisions that you make, you wont have any reason to regret it! :)

I went to Adorned Precision Body Piercing in Calgary, owned and operated by Rick Gilmour. He was the man who skewered my eyebrow and I wouldn't trust anyone else to perforate my body! I had been toying with the idea of getting my penis pierced for a little while now and I was thinking my frenum was the way to go, but the idea of a PA was slowly working its way into my brain as I spent hours browsing the web and reading stories on BME. I went to Rick and asked him what he thought. After a little chat he recommended a PA for two reasons.

1) Because I was uncircumcised and that can make placement more difficult as well as it would be much less visible.

2) From his experiences he found that most people enjoyed the sexual benefits of a PA more than a Frenum, and he promised I would be back to have a PA done in a few months.

So taking the experts advice I went with the PA. We decided on 10ga CBR, my other choice was a 12ga but he said almost 90% of his clients decide they want to stretch it later so better to go big or go home! He was right, its only been a week and I cant wait for it to heal so I can stretch it to 8ga!!!

He laid me down on the table cleaned my unmentionables and proceeded to place an tube down my urethra ...now I was prepared for a small receiving tube, but this was something else, Moby Dick would have swam in terror if Captain Ahabs harpoon was half the size! Thankfully it was only mildly uncomfortable. But nothing could have prepared me for the needle. The pain only lasted 3 seconds. It went something like this - STAB! - STRETCH! - SLIP! and it was all over. In that moment I prayed for death to take me quickly! But once it was done the worst was over and everything after that has been child play. Urine burns a little - Cum burns alot, its getting better everyday and I had only the smallest amount of bleeding for the first 2 or 3 days. The PA feels great, masturbating is fantastic! Its something that I would reccomend to anyone looking for a first genital piercing!

Now on to the aftercare. The aftercare sheet at Adorned is a little different then most other piercing places. It suggests only all natural cleaning products. I use Dr. Bronners lavender soap to clean it once a day and I rinse it with sterile saline solution (not contact lens cleaning solution) after I shower. I also do sea salt soaks or lavender tea soaks up to 3 times daily. Now keep in mind I am not suggesting that anyone take this advice over the advice of their piercer, however for me it has worked wonders. My eyebrow healed quickly and without incident so I am keen on taking my pierces advice! But take the time to talk to your piercer about this method of cleaning, it just makes sense to me!

If anyone has any questions please e-mail me I would be happy to answer! If you are in Calgary I highly recommend Adorned, awesome jewellery, very informative and the best bedside manner I have ever seen! Rick is the only piercer there and has over 15 years of exprience, I wouldn't go any where else!
