i had wanted this job done for a few weeks before i actually had it accomplished. i knew that i was ready for a highly spiritual experience in body modification.

as i have already experienced other modifications (i had stretched my own ear lobes to 1/2 inch, had my septum pierced with a 10 gague retainer, and then i found chris through word of mouth that obscurities will do any piercing you want. as well, i had seen a special on the discovery channel on suspensions, and chris was on there.) so, i first met chris when i wanted a unique ear job done. i had my left ear pierced through my helix, rook, and conch with one piece of tygon (it will soon be a specifically manufactured shaped barbell) and my right ear to connect my tragus to my conch.. all in one sitting. and chris did it. wonderful man he is. so, i knew i could trust him to do this on me.

as it was one of the most enchanting, highly intoxicating and spiritual experiences i have encountered, having my nostril-septum-nostril pierced was one that i would definitely do again in a heart-beat. as i laid upon the table, still mentally preparing myself, i swore it would be the worst pain of all my piercings that i would definitely ever experience. but i was wrong - happily. chris did a wonderful job measuring the straight-shot through my sinus -- getting everyone's opinion, including my own, critically, before really begining. that, of course made me feel much better about that entire procedure. the 4 second penetration was one that i was more than happy to have attended. i cannot thank you enough, chris - his first nasallang in his 12 year professional years.

as it was, the actual piercing went right through, no stops, stalls, or blunders. a perfect straight shot from the right through the left nostril (including the ever so thickness of the septum)- which actually hurt no more than nothing. then passing the barbell right in after it.. it's all on video tape. being in such a state of mind, i even laughed and didn't shed a tear form this.

when it was done, i was in great condition.. no pain, not blood, nothing but happy. i stayed around the shop for a while, and as my mental condition drifted, the pain set in. i had a bad headache right down the entire center of my face, and being straightedge and all, i wouldn't take anything for the pain.. because i knew it would evetually leave, as it did 2 hours later.

complications of having this piercing :

- you will most likely encounter a severe headache for a couple hours right after.

- your nose might secrete much oil, as your body is now conforming to the new piece of metal in your nose.

- your nose may feel a bit numb for a while after about 10 hours or so, through a while after (as in weeks, months..)

- be sure to soak and clean this thing -- it is a high maintenance piercing. the best thing to do is to soak it in sea salt and hot water and then blow out all the crap in your nose (the blood and then liquified crusties) if you don't, expect to go back and have that stuff yanked out .. lol... chris knows about that. if you don't keep that stuff out of there, after about a week it will start smelling pretty fowl.

i have had my nasallang for 3 weeks now and my nose still feels slightly numb. the only swelling that occured with mine was withing the inner sides of my nostrils. the outside had collected blood for about 2.5 weeks or so. the swelling will start to go down after about a week or more. the oily secretion sometimes showa up still.. it wil eventually evolve to "normality" again.

the most important thing i can project to anyone who is contemplating getting this done is that you need to be of strong-willed mental state and be truely "into" body art for the art of it. if you are someone who just thinks this piercing would just be real cool and have no significant piercings to relate it to, don't get it. if you don't know what mind-over-matter means, don't get it. not to sound rude.. well, i really don't care.. but if you don't have a strong sense of self and what it's all about, then you are going to get hurt real bad with this one.

and i, as well as chris, will suggest that any piercers out there be careful not to just do this one on just any poser-stock-wannabe jerk off who walks in and yells "hey! i wan't my nasallang pierced!" - especially if they can't pronounce it correctly.

once again, i thank you chris. and my significant others - dennis (cousin) and leslie (camera woman / sweety) - what a great audience you always are.
