I started getting pierced and tattooed at what I think is a late age 35. Just following a messy divorce and getting sober after 20 years of hardcore drinking and drug abuse. Lets say something in my life was missing. When I was younger I had always wanted to get an earing and a tattoo but under the influence I was pretty much of a coward when it came to pain. So at 35 with way too much time on my hands I got started.
First the earing, then a couple of tattoos. I started reading tattoo mags, and other modification journals and the interest grew. When I started seeing pictures of genital piercing I was fascinated, and thought that I had to do something. I mainly thought about a PA, Ampallang, or Apadravya, but the last too just seemed like way to much tissue to go through for the first time out, (read: still a coward at that point). So the PA is what I settled for. A good friend of mine owns "Comes A Time" a piercing studio near where I live. I think I stopped by to talk to Tom about it 4 times before I got the PA.
So that fateful day arrived I went to the shop. I Picked out the jewelry a 10g captive bead ring and got ready. I planned to pay with a credit card and was informed that the machine was down, so off I went to the ATM, shit more time to think. I Got back to the studio and went into the back room, very clean like a doctors office. With all the implements of my genital destruction neatly laid out in autoclave bags. I dropped my drawers and prepared myself. Tom very clearly explained the procedure and then said ok lets not look at each others faces I'll just do this and get it over with. Good advice, I felt kind of weird, me and Tom both being straight and friends for a while. Shoving a needle through my dick might change this relationship. I lied down exposed, stressed and nervous. Tom inserted the recieving tube which hurt like shit and I thought, look what the hell I got myself into. He then told me to breath in and out and on the third exhale pushed the needle through. I was suprised that the piercing didn't hurt as much as the receiving tube, go figure. He then inserted the jewelry, put some paper towel in a plastic glove and rubber banded it around my unit. Ok its done. I was a little queezy and sat down for awhile and chatted with Tom before I left.
Ok this doesn't hurt that bad. When I got home I cleaned myself off there was alot of blood in the glove and tried to urinate, man that stung. I blew off the rest of my plans that day and just lied there in front of the TV. I cleaned up again before bed and slept on a towel. About 3:00 in the morning I woke up abruptly feeling wet and gross. I turned on the light and pretty much freaked out. There was blood all over the bed, the towel was soaked the sheets, blankets and mattress. Shit what have I done. I cleaned myself off again and feeling really light headed lied down on my back for the rest of the night.
The next morning the bleeding pretty much stopped and I looked down at the piercing, I really liked how it looked, totally cool. What an ordeal, but way worth it. After about the third time I took a piss the pain was gone. My dick was sore for a couple of days but that ended pretty fast. Within about 2 weeks I was A OK. I was really suprised how quick it healed especially now since I have had major problems healing nipple piercings. After about 2 months I bought an 8g CBB and put that in, no problem, no pain with the streach, but I knew I had to go bigger. A month later I tried the 6g but it just wouldn't go, I thought about tapering but decided time might be the solution so I waited. In the mean time I realized the urethral stimulation during sex was fucking great. how did I go this long with out it. The 6g finally went in and a couple months later the 4g, which was a little uncomfortable for a couple of days but it went OK. I love the PA at 4g it feels great and I like the weight. I think this is where I will stay with it. Although my then girlfriend didn't like the larger gauge and wanted me to take it out during sex, bummer.
Well that relationship ended 6 months ago and Im ready for a new one, I've since pierced my nipples and streached my ear to 6g and aquired 12 tattoos. I don't know where I will go from here, but I know Im not done. It seams more like a lifestyle as time goes by. I love my mods, and I love BME, If anyone wonders if they should get a PA, I would say, do it now, today.
