Let me start by saying that I've been piercing proffesionally for 7 years; and in that time, I've always put off getting my P.A... not because of the pain issue, but because I REALLY liked to pee standing up :) Of course, there are ways to do that with a P.A.,but I didnt even want to bother.....

Soooooo.....about a month ago, I was working in our west virginia studio; when my boss asked me to pierce his conch at 8g! "Sure(gulp)!"

I wasnt worried about the pierce, its that it was on my boss, a conch, at 8-freakin-gauge fer cryin' out loud!!

Well, that went well, and afterwards we were talking about doing my P.A at 8g as well...we laughed for a min, then I looked up and said "lets do it!"

I knew Reno had been piercing since I was in high school(11 years)and that made me feel more relaxed about the whole thing.

I picked an 8g 3/4 CBR(only 3/4?...Im no John Holmes)and then we got everything set up.

As I dropped my pants and got up on the chair, I started to get a little nervous(to all you newbies...It never goes away, I always get a little nervous before someone sticks a needle through my flesh)so I started to go through all the breathing stuff I do with my clients..WOW, it works!!

Reno then cleaned the area, and marked the spot(wow, that marker is kinda cold!). He then lubed up the reciving tube and slowly worked it in(BOY THAT FELT WEIRD!). After the tube was in place(very creepy, having a metal tube inserted in your urethra..hehehehe), I really started doing the breathing.....deep inhale....BIG EXAHALE(1)..DEEP INHALE....BIG EXHALE(2).....DEEP INHALE......BIG EXH--AW FUUCCKK!!

Yes, it hurt of course, but not nearly as bad as I expected(naturally) and It was a big relief as the last section of the needle went through. I didnt even feel the jewlery go in and the ball popped in with no problem. It bleed real good for about a min. Then we wraped it up and I ate some candy(and smoked a ciggie as well)

After about an hour, I finally gave in to the urge to pee, I knew it was going to burn and really didnt want to go, but you gotta do whatcha-gotta do, so I sat down, braced myself for the worst and let it fly.....OOHHHHHH MMMMYYYY GGAAWWDD!!!!!!! THE worst burning sensation I have ever felt in my life...but who cares? I HAVE MY P.A DONE!!!!

The next morning, I very carefully took off the bandage and saw the expected amount of dried blood all over the bandage, threw that away and jumped(well, not actualy jumped..ouch)in the shower, gently washing all the dried blood off me and my new pal. It was done bleeding and actually felt fine. Later in the day I made the mistake of trying to climb in the back of my friends car, over the seat, boy that was dumb....live and learn.

As far as the healing went...The first few days were fine, no crusties,a little pinch now and then, but over all very good...

Then, sometime after the first week It started to itch pretty bad, nuthin' like trying to scratch yer dick in public! Anywho...the worst part was when I started to get the crusties..boy-o-boy, waking up to your ring moving around while being crustie is no picnic...I ended up cleaning it with just water 5-6 times a day, in addition to the twice a day with antibacterial soap, just to keep the crusties away(I tend to get a lot of lymph matter discharge in all my pierces).

Now, a month later, the discharge is less, but still there, and it doesnt pinch at all anymore, I am being very carefull with it and havnt even taken it out for a "test drive" yet(as much as I want to!)

I've woken up with an erection a few times and that is almost a little painful, but mostly becase of the crusties.

Would I do it again? of course

Do I think 8g is too big to start? nope..in fact..its already looking a little small..I've heard a lot of debate about healing taking longer with bigger gauges, and, honestly, have witnessed it myself..but in my case, it didnt seem to make much difference.

The weight is fantastic and it sits very comfortably with no pinching like I've heard from other people who started at smaller gauges.

I will add that I have been pierced by lots of people and can honestly say that being pierced by an 11 year veteren makes a big difference, the pierce itself hurt yes, but it was smooth and very quick. I would recomend Reno to anyone(that fuckin' guy!)wanting ANYthing pierced, he has taught me a lot and is a wealth of information..thanks Reno.
