I decided that I wanted to do this the day after I got back from a cruise with my brother in January of '98. It was a VERY cold day and me and one of my best friends, Josh, decided to go to Diablo Body Piercing - which used to be located inside of Fate Tattoo but has since shut down since Dru is fulfilling his dream as an EMT. I had been into Diablo many times to have various things pierced and to have the majority of my piercings stretched, but I just never had the guts to get what I was going to get today.

I told Dru what I wanted. His exact words were, "It's about time you did something like this!" Then he picked out the jewelry which was going to be inserted into me - a 10 gauge circular barbell. The next step was to wait in the lobby while he set things up in the back. This had to be the worst of all, sitting there. Waiting for something I knew would hurt un-godly bad! After about five minutes later, he came back and said it was all ready for me and asked if his obese apprentice Dorothy could watch. I could care less, so I agreed. I walked to the back and sat on the massage table that he did his piercings on. Dru told me to take off my pants and just lay down and relax in my boxers on the table. Relax! Sure, buddy.

He then told me to expose my penis which was down to nothing in size, almost like it knew what was about to happen momentarily. He then put a numbing agent into the tip of my penis because, if you didn't know, it hurts to have things put into your penis. While we were waiting for it to kick in, he pointed stuff out to me on the anatomy chart on the wall and explained the process to me. Not to sound like a dumbass, but when he said I had a urethra I was like, "No shit! I didn't know guys had those!"

Anyway, after that he placed the p.a. tube inside of me and aligned it properly to the exit. This is were the true fear sets in. The dreaded needle was about to penetrate my flesh! He told me the first push was going to feel like a really bad shot and the second was just going to hurt pretty bad. At least he didn't lie to me and say it wouldn't hurt. So I'm now lying on a table with my penis exposed, about to have a sharp needle pushed through.

The first push. Hurt but not quite as bad as the second push. Oh my fucking god!!! My back arched in extreme pain and then it was over. All that was left was to push it the rest of the way through and put the jewelry in. As I was lying there in shock and pain, I made the mistake of looking down to see what was happening. All I saw was blood and a bloody needle sticking out of me. After the jewelry was put in, he then put a rubber glove around my penis to catch the blood, and it was time to go. He gave me a care sheet with details on how to clean the piercing and told me, "DON'T HAVE SEXUAL CONTACT FOR 6 WEEKS!!" Damn! I then shook his hand and was off back to my place.

Healing wise it took about six weeks to heal, and even then it wasn't healed all the way to where I could have sex w/o being in pain. I bled for about 2 days and then it mainly was crusty and painful. I put bacitracin on it about 2 times a day and cleaned in the shower twice a day also. You have to move it around and to clean it off in the shower and this hurts extremely bad, especially when the soap gets into the fresh piercing hole and burns like a bitch. It also hurts to sleep on your stomach because of the pressure that goes onto the genial area, I slept on my side and back most of the time.

A few things you should know.

1. It does HURT.

2. The hole will never heal if you ever decide to take out the piercing.

3. It bleeds more than you would think.

4. Yes, it is hard to use the bathroom. It has a tendency to spray wherever it wants.

5. You will walk like a gimp for about four days.

6. Yes, it feels good during sex.

But all in all, it was one of those life experiences that I will never forget as long as I'm alive. Since I had it done I've gone up in gauge sizes to a 4 gauge - where I've been happily at for over a year.
